I am new here on THB and pretty new to reloading. It has been years since I have reloaded. I am thinking of using the 150 gr swift sirocco out of a 7mm Reg mag. I cant find too much info from people that have reloaded them. I do hear they do take some dialing in.
Does any body have a good place for me to start(keep in mind I am new) I hear you might need to seat the bullet futher...I dont know how far that is. I do have calipers, so I can measure if sombody can give me a reference. Powder brands and weights, primer and whatever else would sure be appericated!!!
Thanks

cumminsboy97 = I don't have any experience with the Siroco. I use a Hornady 162gr A-Max over 59 grs of IMR 4831. Federal Match Primers, mixed brass. It recently gave me a 10 shot group from 200 yds that you could cover with a quarter. Average velocity was in the 2800 fps range.
I noticed an improvement in accuracy when I seated the bullet .010 off the lands. I reduced the powder charge and worked up gradually because seating close to the lands can cause pressure increase.

Ok, likeI said I am a bit new. This may be a stupid question...what is lands? I know it has to deal with bullet depth but I dont know what that term refers to.
Thanks for the help!

The spiral lines cut in the barrel are called grooves and the spaces between them are called lands. I'm seating the bullet so it is .010 away from the lands. It's almost touching the barrel at the end of the chamber. Another strong caution - start with a low charge and work up gradually, watching for signs of overpressure.
