Hello I am new here and also to reloading. Two factory loads that work for me are federal
1.) 25-06 115 nosler part.
2.)federal with barnes 100 gr. tsx.
I would like to find something similar to both loads to start out with, any information on this will be helpfull. Rifle is an off the shelf Ruger m77 Mk. II 22" barrel 1:10 twist.
Thanks Dale.

I have loaded many many different 115 grain bullets including the Nosler partition in a 25-06..and the CT bullet in a 25-06 Ack..
I am sold on RL22 as the powder of choice for a 25-06..Ackley as well..
My loading equipment,books,data..all is in a storage unit at the moment..
Buy a pound of RL22,anyone here will have a Nosler manual and can give ya starting loads as well as max loads..
You will see that your 25-06 will most likely perform with RL2
Good luck...and watch them groups get smaller and smaller

| for 115+ grain bullets, i like rl-25 and rl-22. everything else gets rl-22 or h-4831. you won't go wrong w/ any of those 3 powders.

I think I'm going to start with
115 nosler part. >46.1 grains RL22
Hornady brass mostly on hand right now. with federal match primers.
recomended starting load for 120 nos. part.is 48.2 max of 52.5 RL22... 100 grain nos. part.50.7 start. max od 55.9 RL22
Hornady starting load of 46.1 with a 117 grain BTSP (light mag ammo) max of 53.? RL22.

| i don't have my load notes handy at the moment, but 46 grains of powder seems to be an awfully undercharged load for a case that has 60-ish grains of capacity... check a speer #13 manual for starting loads - that manual is usually pretty close to reality.

I was just GIVEN a Howa 25-06 and Hornady dies, have H-4895, AA 1680, H335, and some 700X laying about, any one of those suitable for 25-06? This is a very cool looking rifle, for cost of shipping only. Scope and bipod came WITH it!

Kfd,
I shoot a custom 98 mauser chambered in 25-06 with a 22" douglas barrel, she likes 55Grains RL22 behind a 115 grain Barnes TSX. You might want to start around 50 grains and work your way up.

| A load that I have used for over 30 years in my m700"s is as follows 115 or 117 gr spitzer over 64.0 gr of H870 & a cci 250 primer for about 3200 fps depending on barrel lenght, BTW this load is very heavily compressed & needs to be tapped to get it all in. Case life is good over 15 loadings or so.

KFD-518, I been tottin a 1/4 bore 06 for all my deer hunting and varmint/coyote needs for well over a couple of decades. I shoot two bullet weights in that rifle, a 120 grain Nosler Partition using IMR-4350 powder @ 49 grains, velocity is right at 3,100fps. I also use the same load for the 115 grain Nosler Bullet and velocity is the same within an eyelash of each other.
The 100 grain (Nosler) bullet is used IMR-4831 powder @ 50.2 grains....this is a .485 MOA in my rifle, velocity is 3110fps. These loads date back a couple or more decades and if it ain't broke, why fix it savvy.

| I have had very good luck with IMR 4350 in two different 25-06. A Remington and a tikka. IMR 4831 gave me fair results and I have not tried R-22 but I will. I am using Sierra 100 gr. because Nolser do not show using over 51 grains of IMR 4350 with there 100 gr. bullets.

| The load I use in my .25-06 is 100gr. Barnes TSX with 57.0gr. of RL-22 and a Federal GM210M primer with Remington cases. This load gives me .675" groups at 100 yards in a Tikka Lite stainless.I worked it up .5 grains at a time, if you look in the Barnes #4 manual 55.5 gr. is a max load, but this load in the Tikka shows no pressure signs and shoots about 3150 fps.
