Does anyone have a good load for .243, using a Hornady 100gr. RN. I'm shooting a Savage bolt action and using Remington factory core-lokt loads(100gr. psp)shes dead nuts on the bulls eye. I just want to load my own and I've had good success with the round nose in other calibers for deer.
Thanks

My standard 243 100 gr load for the last 40 years has been 45.9 grains of H4831 and a standard primer. Shoots under 1 inch out of my model 70.

http://www.handloads.com/calc/index.html   with a 100 yd zero switching to a rn bullet will double the drift at 300 yds. with a 10 mph crosswind drop and drift will be over 13 inches.if not shooting long distances a rn will work.it does sound like the ammo you are shooting should just be duplicated.dead nutz sounds pretty darn good to me.

My shots are all under 100 yards. I have pretty much IMR 4350 on hand but can't find a load using it with that bullet.

a starting load for any other 100 gr bullet should be a safe starting load for a RN.somewhere around 34 gr IMR4350 will work.

I get very good results from my savage with the following load..42.8 gr of imr 4350 and a sierra game king bthp 85 gr. i tend to seat my bullets close to the lands..i get basically one hole groups..however they only open up  a miniscule amount by seating them so they fit in the magazine. Good luck and keep us posted on results..later Luke

Claudester....I got a couple you can try out in your rifle OK! 100 grain RD Nose bullet.

1. IMR-4831 @ 49 grains powder, velocity is 2900fps.

2. H-4831 @ 44 grains powder, velocity is 2930fps

3. H-450 @ 43 grains powder, velocity is 2900fps

4. RL-22 @ 43.5 grains powder, velocity is 2900fps

These above loads are ONE STEP or Bracket under MAXIMUM LOAD!!!

WORK SLOW AND SAFELY.
