This was my opening morning of deer season with a rifle..I was swamped with does this morning and I let a little 4 point live another year..He was the only buck I seen this morning. They are not rutting here yet for sure.It is way warm.I had on a long sleeve shirt and bibbed overalls and it was way warm...
Soon though,I can feel it they`ll be rutting  and the big ole boys will be coming out to the party..
Any man who hasn`t sit on a deer stand at daylight and get to feel something tingle down deep in his soul has never lived...I LOVE DEER SEASON....
I`ll go back tonight a few hours before dark tonight just hoping that I might catch a big ole boy moving to feed  early......

I have lived my whole life to be in the woods and fields hunting , without it i would rather be dead and done with it. The happiest days of my life is the opening of deer season and the worst days is when it ends. My family just can't understand why i like hunting so much. I have never loved anything better and never will.

Good luck this season Timber.  I bet there's a nice buck out there with your name written all over it.   You'll run into him soon.

I love deer season also but we are so over populated with deer that it has become a no challenge situation when your meat hunting. Last year I got 5 2 bucks small ones and 3 does and didnt even have to work for them and already this year I went out on a 9 day disabled hunt and got 2 on the first morning. I have since now decided that Im going to try and find a BIG buck so there will be some challenge and Ive also taken up bow (crossbow) hunting to make it more interesting. Please dont get me wrong I love each and every deer I get and the exileration is there everytime but it has almost become like shooting ducks in a barrel. The DNR has said that our deer population is out of control and its all their fault for having a short season 9 days and they come up with the T-Zones 4 days doe's only. I used to complain that I only had public land to hunt on but we have so many deer here that they are every where! I still love deer hunting and I always will but now after I get the meat I will set my sites for a BIG buck now that should be tough enough to make me happy!

:thumbs:Had a good morning up here ,  This young lady did good on spring bear , now she is back kicking the stuffen out of the mulies .  She poked 2 holes in this mulie with a 243 .  Nice shooting - her first took out his lived and she was afraid he would get away so she smoked him in the heart .   And that was the end of that .  Then you should have heard the war whoop from her then . One happy young lady ! It's a 5x5 mulie plus brow tins .  Nice deer -

Stay tuned - season is just starting for big bucks    Regards Bullet :troll:

well its day 2, and I have seen the same deer now for the 3rd time. I hope it gets cooler soon as it might make them roam a bit more.

Drinks if I hold it to long I just don't turn blue I will die and the wife an kids wouldn't like that:lol:

well its looks like I will be going to Breckenridge for Thanksgiving and there is my best chance to get a nice buck and let my oldest get hers.

Hey  bullet..That is awesome and a real nice buck..Is that the same young lady who killed a black bear with the 270 last year????I see the makings of a fine hunter in those pretty eyes of hers..
lol Drinks...I can`t hold my breath that long and it looks like no Blue Northern soon so I bet you are right...

Things are looking up though. This morning the same raggedy assed little 4 point showed up just after daylight and spooked off a few does that were feeding.About 30 minutes later he started getting jumpy and sure enough here come some real horns.A 10 point about 15-16 inches wide.Looked to be a young buck with some good genes.I watched him feed for about 45 minutes along with the 4 point until he wondered off back into the live oaks.I was happy to finally see a buck most folks would shoot but not me.He was small bodied and young,I like biguns for the freezer so I will continue to wait and I like big horns.I am trying to figure out how to rig my dig cam to take some pics through my rifle scope so I can share some pics with you fellas.I`ll probly get banged on for passing on some of the bucks you`ll see but it is a personal thing to me and I know instantly when the right one sends the gun to go into shoot mode...
Good luck to all you other fellas hunting.I look forward to some pics of your success...
