Here's an 11-pointer, scoring around 127 B&C net that was shot with a 30-06 165 grain Nosler partitions at 300 yards (actual yards) with a Remington 1903A3 sporter and Leupold Vari-X III 3-9X scope by my uncle back in the late 1980s on our family farm.

Very nice mounts fellas.Klallen, that mule deer is fantastic. Is that the one you took with your Warbird?

I used to never care about having anything mounted.I guess as I get older, preserving the memories of a good hunt or a fine animal mean a little more...

The kid almost popped me after his first deer when I told him"No son,we are not going to mount a spike"..:lol:Little fella was sure unhappy with me for a few hours..:shameon:

Yup, that was the first animal I ever took with the Warbird and a 180 gr. Ballistic Tip.  Seemed to work ok   .

I remember having a conversation with ole pocketnavy back on Shooters.Com once about taking pictures of kills.  He kinda thought it was disrespectful in a way to do so.  We chatted real civil like about it for a bit and never really came to an agreement on the subject.  Which is fine.  Personally, I feel any kill (varmint or big game) is a photo opportunity worth taking.  In my mine, saving the memories of a successful kill (either by pics or mounts) so that you can look back on them and remember is the highest form of respect we as hunters can show.  Course, that's my own personal opinion.  Others don't have to hold to that.  Chat with you later.  >>  klallen

Here's a few more from the wall:

First the "in the field" photo of my piebald doe I shot several years ago.  Taken with a Winchester M70 XTR 30-06 165 gr. Nosler BT's at about 50 yards.

Here's what it looks like on my wall:

Finally, here's my wild boar mount that I have.  Pretty good one - around 300 lbs.  Taken at 40 yards with same rifle except using 150 gr.  Winchester factory silvertips.

It's not your typical mount, but a picture of my squirrel dog.

My grandaddy had a little feist dog named Tawmpy.I`m not kiddin, this derned dog was phenomenal. It would run up to a tree and stand up on the trunk with his front paws and start yapping away.Everytime he did you could bet there was a squirrel up that tree.Papa killed many a squirrel with that little ole dog..
