Can't wait to see the pics, Gene.

Hunting's brutal in my neck of the woods, so far.  High winds, unseasonably warm     ...     same old, same old for late October hunting season up here in MT, I guess.  Haven't even had a cartridge in the chamber and it's been a week of hunting.  Mercy.

Anyway, glad someone's punching tags.  Congrats and a big good luck to scout on his hunt this morning !!!

Nice work, Gene.

I love the .284 caliber class on deer, too.  Did a lot of hunting with a 7mm STW in the past and now with the .280 Ack. Imp. and a 7mm RUM.  Wonderful performers.  Would expect nothing less from your RemMag.

Congrats on the buck.  >>  korey

Those pics don't do the buck justice.  I will send Gene more once my wife helps me figure out how the f*** I get photos off our new DVD cam onto my laptop.  The frontal shots are better than the side view.

It was a fun hunt.  We got just the right buck we were looking for and Gene downed what we thought (from a couple of sightings) was nice mature basket 10 point but turned out to be a heavy horned 12 point with double eye brows.

I took Scout 243 with me why the old man chased (white)tail out of the same tripod he downed his master porker from back in Feb of this year.  The good thing about hunting with Gene is that (unlike others) I can turn him loose on his own to make trouble.  That freed me up to film some bucks including a nice 140 class 9 point and a 150+ 10 point and give Scout243 a ration of bullshit.

Gene - pics were sent tonight to your email.

Yes - he muffled gund shots...........

Scout 243 and I were in a blind Sat morning and I swear to Christ almighty that I heard several distant shots on the ranch.  I kept asking Scout if he heard shots too and he just smiled and said no.

Finally, I just about had to throw his young ass out of the blind because he was farting me into oblivion.  Then he says, wait, I gotta fart, and the muffled air biscuit from beneath his overalls sounds just like a distant shot.  I look at him and shake my head and almost vomit, because the aroma is no bueno.

Anyway, funny shit.  Better let Scout know the fart game is on and I am the heavy weight champion of the Hill county!

Can't see much in the first pic but the doubles sure stand out in that second one.  Real neat looking horn.  I'm happy for ya.  How ya mounting it up?  European?  Shoulder?  Simple plaque?  Either way, it's a beauty of a trophy.  Later.  >>  korey
