Tomorrow's opening day of the archery deer season here in Minnesota.  So starting tomorrow I'll be in the sticks every weekend.  In the past, I always wait until October when it got cooler.  Not this year.  Last year got so wet and muddy I couldn't even get out in October.

Good luck to ya!

Hunting with a bow is the ulimate....makes you test yourself.  Can I wait long enough?  Will he get close enough?  Do I smell that bad?

Scott (have some great hunts) B

Finally got out Monday. About 6pm a spike came running in. When it entered the end of my shooting lane, without breaking stride it made a 90 degree turn and headed straight a way. He was running like he was being chased, but I never saw a thing. Probably a Timber Wolf. 2 mins. later 2 fawns stepped out then ran up to within 20 feet of me. They still had spots. No way I'll shoot one that still has spots.

I go back Friday, hopefully I see more action.

Well, the rains came and put a end to my bow hunting. We didn't get stuck like last year. But we were running in mud up to the rims on my van. I was still seeing deer. But we for some reason did put a food-plot in where I'm hunting this year so there was nothing to bring the deer into bow range. So I'm going back Nov. 8th with my .308.
