Took this doe this morning at 65 yards, with a 90+ year old rifle. Still works.

Funny, Phil Sharpe admired the .25 Remington and recommended it as a decent whitetail cartridge. Frank Barnes said it was all but useless.

 

 

Entry at rear of shoulder, exit behind the opposite shoulder. Exit wound was about the size of a quarter. Ran about 30 yards, could have followed the blood trail in the dark. Love these old guns!

Charley nice shooting!!!!

You know as well as i do most of these older calibers were game getters too.  Sometime i still wonder why we need these new calibers were being offered today. There is something about using some older iron too maybe because they were well built back then too.  Don't let the age of the gun fool you too just look at my 100yo swedish mausers. :thumbs:
