Mini 14 (580) not bad the one on the right was shot at 120 yards (walked, not with a range finder) in the back of the head. This is partly pest control but it is also food for me and the other one is going to feed some people at the church that have lost there jobs and unemployment has run out.

Did I mention that I had a deer to try to kill me on my motorcycle this year (now it is time for revenge)  (and yes one was shot last week while the other two was shot today)

I'm just on short time not unemployed (although have had to sell off most of my stuff that I almost cried about) it has to do with me overstepping my limits and having to pay the price for doing so. It will not be like this forever and it will get better:thumbs:

Thanks TG !!!

I will try to kill some more this afternoon.

(do not have a 25-308 anymore, still have the upper for the ar-10 though)

mini 14 for now does just fine:thumbs:

The State of MN just allowed the .223 as a big game caliber but I didn't have time to work up a deer round. What bullet you using 25souper?

Attached a pic of my mini-14 I might try next year for giggles on deer.

68 grain Hornady match 25 grains of H4895 ( start out at 23 Grains) mine loves this and it really does a good job if you make the shot right. What is the first three numbers on the mini you have, just wondering if yours is before or after they retooled the plant?

25Souper.....I just purchased a new Ruger Mini-14 for the wife in the 223 caliber. They also have the new version, the 6.8 mm but one has a dickens of a time finding ammo or reloading components for that caliber. The 6.8 mm has the same diameter of the .270 Winchester, .277diameter. I just hate those darn metric's.

Soldier Of Fortune mag. has a report on the Special Forces using this new Ruger in the 6.8 caliber. Ruger told me on the phone last week, that either of those calibers will shoot 1.25 inches with iron sights at 50 yards. This is very good to hear, since the last 2 Ruger Mini's I brought home, would not hit a normal size watermellon at 75 yards and that is NO JOKE!!!

The wife can't wait to shoot her new rifle and burn up some of the ammo I brought home. This is Federal military ammo but I got a good price on the stuff. $450 bucks for a 1000 rounds.
