  Hello All ,  I just spent  the most incredible week with Dallas Hawkins  and his dad  Mark . Dallas  was our first  young person that we donated a hunt to . He and his dad came from Missouri  to hunt Black Bear . They stayed here at the house and enjoyed there time with us as well a Dallas enjoyed  spenting time with Cheyenne my wolf that thinks she is a  95 lb.   poodle ! Dallas missed 3 bear 's before tagging a 4 yr old  dry sow . You can't imagine how excited he was !  Dallas is a inspiration , Dallas has Progeria (the aging disease )   but nothing stops him , not replaced knee's and hips , shots every day for a blood disorder and a 12 year old staff infection , that opened up his leg about 5 " long . He never complains ! Dallas is 26 yrs. old  and is 4'3" tall . He is one of 40 childern in the world with Progeria and the oldest living . He was sent to use though the United Special Sportsman's Alliance , who connects kids with life threatening illnesses with guide/ outfitters who donate hunts and other   sporting adventures .    After  having  Dallas   here with us  , we have decided to start a foundation ourselves  ( The Dallas Hawkins Youth Sporting Foundation )  Which will pay travel portion and the licensing  so that any childwho wants to come and hunt can whether his or her can afford transportation costs or not . As of this morning we have had 2 pledges of 1200. 00 per year . That will pay for 2 childern per year .  The name of the foundation will be registered  tomorrow  then it will take about a month to actually register the foundation .    I'll enclude some photo's  of Dallas and his bear ! Its not a trophy buy some standards  BUT to him It sure is !!   This Dallas and Mark ! Enjoy      Regards  Bullet

 Hello All ,  I just wanted to up date  my post  -  I talked to Dallas this morning , He is still very tired - but still very happy and bubbling . His bear and the meat made the trip very good . It was still frozen when he got back to Missouri .  We just boned out the meat into roast and froze it . On a nother note - as of yesterday  the Dallas Hawkins Youth Foundation was registered and approved this morning .  So it is happening .  Regards   - Bullet

 Hey Gunrunner , To answer your question  - Yes it is undescribal  the joy that comes from these young folk's .  As you can amagin , I deal with a far amount of hunters on a yearly basis ! And I do my share of hunting and take my share of game . I don't even exspress the same joy  , that I see in these young folk's particularly if they have been suscessful .  But they are up every minute of every day . Happy to be in the outdoors , breathing cool clean mountain air as a possed to hospital air some place , or being poked and proded by the medical profession . We all know how much fun that can be . These young people have shown me a greater appreciation of shooting sports - of the outdoors - and just how much it means to them to be able to get out and do some thing like this . As I'm writting this , I keep seeing in my mind James and Dallas 's faces in my mind . James was the youngest he was 10 yrs old . That started this whole thing .  I got him a good boar blackbear 5'9" that weighed 335 lbs. With just hugh feet . That was not what was importanted to me    I was holding the head up for him to have a better look and and so he could have his picture taken By his mom - I forgot to say this was a family trip Mom , Dad and big sister !  Anyway  - I went to shake his hand to congradulate him and we did BUT it was the next 20 seconds that did me - he put his arms around my neck and hugged me and was shedding tears down my neck . As said  thanks buddy I didn't think I could do it !  Man - That gives me a big lump in my throat even now ! Their is no way you can have that happen and not shed a tear your self . But boy - that is why I do it .  I have never had another hunter show their joy like these young people . I have often thought that if the animal knew it would bring this much joy to these young people . I may have run out a died all by its self!    And - just to clarify something -I'm not exspecting for you guy's to be hugging your guides  or hunting partners  they may not  understand ! Explaining a black eye when you get home may be a tickelish subject  unless your Jeff Foxworthy !    Maybe is because they live day to day  not knowing what tomorrow will bring , I don't know but , It sure a great experience . And one that won't ever be forgotten by me anyway !  Our company policey is that know one gets refused .  I hope to be talking to John tonight or tomorrow with regards to another hunt ! We have been playing phone tag for two weeks .      We fella's have a good weekend ! Regards Bullet

Hello All ,  I figured I would up date my earlier post with regards a future hunter . That hunter , I was refering to was from Tenn.  That hunt is in the works .

But Had a call this morning , and asked if I could help from The Childerns Wish Foundation  - their is a youngman for Oklahoma that has less than 6 months and wants to hunt .  Man I didn't have to think about it . I told them YES  I'll help their is hunt waiting for him !! The truck is running and let go ! It will take The Childerns Wish Foundation and Buckmasters local chapter a little time to get the details worked out , but they now have a hunt ! I'm not even sure what it is he would like to hunt ! It didn't matter ! He'll be hunting it anyway !  If anyone has a supplier that may have any promotional item that will help to make this youngmans experience a little more memorable it would be great ! And truly appreciated . I'm just glad I can help , this youngman ! Regards Bullet
