i couldnt find it on the web except what i shared...and the only thread with the foto well...it's the top one, a more normal large one is in the second thread, i will say that the grass is the wrong color for june tho there is green leaves on the trees still ( and no not the evergreens the aspen)and by eating cattle it would conceivably ingest growth hormone...snopes didnt list it and neither did google - that leaves me doubting ( along with the comments in that first thread )
edit for add...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gray_Wolf

" Gray wolf weight and size can vary greatly worldwide, tending to increase proportionally with latitude as predicted by Bergmann's Rule. In general, height varies from 0.6 to .95 meters and (26–38 inches) at the shoulder. Wolf weight varies geographically; on average, European wolves may weigh 38.5 kg (85 lbs), North American wolves 36 kg (80 lbs), and Indian and Arabian wolves 25 kg (55 lbs).[6] Though rarely encountered, extreme specimens of more than 77 kg (170 lb.) have been recorded in Alaska, Canada,[7] and the former Soviet Union.[8] The heaviest recorded gray wolf in the New World was killed on 70 Mile River in east-central Alaska on July 12, 1939 and weighed 79 kg (175 lb.),[6] while the heaviest recorded wolf in the Old World was killed after World War II in the Kobelyakski Area of the Poltavskij Region in the Ukrainian SSR, and weighed 86 kg (189 lb.)."

The vast majority of wolves killed are not weighed or recorded, and figures put in the books are frequently incorrect. The wild wolves that I have seen in the past are about this size. Wolves are much larger than most people realize.

On the BSB site it states the kill occured  3 hours north of Edmonton. But on here is says the kill occured in Idaho. Hmm something isn't right.

Sure was nice of the Govt to turn those bastards lose in our backyard. I live a hundred some odd miles from Yellowstone Park. They claim they have containment procedures, but how do you contain these things? If they were that easy to contain people up here would have wiped them out way before they did, the pups arent gonna have collars, and the more there are the more territory they need. I relize that they are part of the "ecosystem" but not no more needed then the buffalo roaming in herds as they once did. Which we are doin quite well without. Only containment procedure needed is instructions on how to load a 30 06 and fire it. If those folks in the city want the wolves back turn them loose there, sides they might do some good there.

I work 6 hours north of Edmonton. Its common to see wolves around our worksite.Had one old loner who would walk right past you, tried to make eye to eye contact on many occasions, never happened. The wolves I have seen in northern Alberta seem to be larger in body size than wolves I saw in northern B.C., and the Yukon.Seen many huge wolves, but not one that big.
