Hi Phil, I thought it was time to end the 470 Capstick thread.  I sent my rifle out today to Harlan at Triple River Gunsmithing (they do a lot of the CZ Custom Shop work and came recommended) to convert my CZ 550 from 375 H&H to 505 Gibbs.  They were very reasonable as well.

So now I guess I'll have my two son's practice hitting me in the head with 16 oz gloves to get myself ready for the recoil ...

If anyone has any good light starting loads for the Barnes 525g TSX  (around 2100 fps or so) I'll be very interested.

Regards,

Chuck

Use a Mag primer, some powder and stuff some toilet paper in to fill it up.

It won't kick nearly as much as full power loads (but still plenty hard enough).

Got lots of good load data for the 505 Gibbs, including some reduced loads (no filler) with 5744.  Once the rifle gets here and I verify them.  I'll post them if anyone is interested ...
