I must say that after looking at the pics and reading the posts, you people who can hunt yotes alot make me jealous.
Someday I'm gonna make a serious effort to grab my .243 or 22-250 and go off somewhere and get me some...

Which part of New York are you in? We have two varieties of Yote in my neck of the woods, one from Michigan and the one that come down from the empire state via Pa. Up north of Watertown I have hunted Yotes, as well as the section of the state that adjoins with the Quebec Provincial boundaries.

I am apprx 10-15 miles east of Buffalo, more towards Niagara Falls. I have to travel south towards Allegany county to get a chance at the yotes, and the problem is it is all state land. You never know if someone else is out and about. Alot of effort can easily be wasted.
