I think my favorite has got to be ruffed Grouse, back in the U.P. we called them Partrige also. After feild dressing, standing on the wings and pulling the feet then greak the wings off. We used the little 8 oz beers and cooked them on the grill just like beer can chicken, just used a poultry rub and stuck a small tatter in the neck. Just watch out for shot while you were eating.
