I used a hand call for this one. I was sitting in the middle of a hill with no cover but I was all camo'd out. He was trotting towards me and I was afraid that he was going to see me soon. I shot him at 155 yds with a .308 Win, 165 gr Hornady SST handload. The damage was pretty extensive. He was a big coyote, the shooting sticks are 39 inches long.

Good job there!
I'm still trying to get connected with my first coyote, but still no such luck as of yet. I'll keep after them though.

The 165 SST is hard them, but it will put them down with no runners. Good looking yote. I was going to head out this morning but it was bitter cold with the wind howling and flying snow so stayed in bed.

Mountaineer,
I tried for the longest time using a call on my own and not having any coyotes come. I finally got a Primos call and their video. I watched the video while imitating their calls. It was like opening a flood gate. It made all the difference in the world. The first time I used the call after watching the video, I called in 3 coyotes on one trip. I just wished I didn't wait so long before getting the video. Hope this helps. Good luck.
