I am going to be hunting hogs, bobcats, and coyotes next month in Texas. Anybody have any preferences on what calibers and bullets I should use on these three animals??? Any information or personal experiences are welcome.

The problem is , where in Texas?

Depending on the area and local conditions the ranges can be from 10' to several hundred yds.

To cover all bases, a .308 , .30-06 or .280 would likely be a good choice.

Hi Lucas.   Are you taking just one rifle, or more?   A 223 will work fine on the 'yotes and cats, but I'd go a little bigger for the hogs.   I would think a 243 or larger with a good bullet will work fine on them.

For the smaller animals the V-Max or Ballistic Tips work great.   Although with those thin skinned critters just about any bullet will do as long as it's accurate out of your gun.

For hogs maybe go with an Interlock, Accubond, or some other bullet that will hold together and penetrate.   (I haven't hunted hogs and am just offering what I think would work.)   Bea175 has taken them with his 45ACP, so anything is possible.

I would use whatever rifle i owned. What you use for deer would work perfect for this hunt. If it was me it would be my 25-06 or 6mm Rem .

Hey Lucas, good to see ya bud.I shoot a 223 Rem solely as my varmint rifle and even them big ole yotes and bobcats in Texas don`t talk back to a well placed 40 gr bullet doing mach2 haulin ***.:lol:I`ve killed hogs with a 22lr and a 223 Rem will do it for sure but place your shots right with it.

When I am hunting hogs solely,I use a 270 Win..A 243 will knock the snotout of em too,but be watchful and place your shots accurately. The 25-06 will civilize the nastiest tusker around if you can shoot accurately. If you or your dad have a 270Win, thats way more than enough gun for a hog...

I got beat up on another forum for using a 300 Win Mag on hogs.Without the flamer having a grasp of ballistics or velocity befor flaming.I do use  this too and I will continue to.A well placed shot from this rifle does little damage to meat and they know who is boss when it barks..

For bobcats and yotes, any good 22 cal. will work, for hogs youcan use a 223 or 22-250 but I like to use something a bit bigger like a 30 cal.

I personally use a 300 win mag for hogs ,I have been told its over kill but I would rather have over kill then not enought.

Thanks everybody. Eveyone kind of hit around what i will prolly use. I have a .243 that I shoot 65 grain v-max out of. I will prolly use that for the yotes and cats, and I will prolly use my dad's .270 on the hogs. That is what we were talking about doing. My dad will prolly use his 22-250 on the yotes, and will prolly try his .220 swift also. Sorry I haven't been on here more Timberghozt. I've been busier than heck with working and then making turkey calls. Everybody wants me to call for them and video for them. Its been nuts. I did knock down a bird the other day though. He was a nice one, 23lbs, 1 3/8" spurs, and a real thick 12" beard, plus another skinny 6 1/2" beard. He was my first double bearded bird. It was awesome. I called him in from over 300 yards away through the timber with one of my calls. Dropped him at 35 yards. He gobbled his head off.  Thanks everybody, keep posting!

I would think that a 270 would be a good all around round for that situation.
