This is the second time it has happened in 6 years. We have a 9 day gun deer season here in Wisconsin and being disabled I try to hunt from my truck but on the 8th day I decided to go into the woods because I wasnt seeing anything. It took me 45 minutes to get in about 100 yards. I sit there on a stump for 3 1/2 hours then finally spot a nice doe about 65 yards out across the creek I shoot her and she falls right there on the spot. Well I know that I cant cross the creek so I work my way back to my truck and drive it over the bridge where I can follow a logging road back into where my doe is when I finally get there all I find is a nice steamy gut pile.:pissed: Thats twice in 6 years some one has claimed or taken my deer. I woke up this morning and its raining so I couple that with what happened yesterday I lost all ambition about going out. Its just a cryin shame that some folks resort to stealing. I really doubt that I will hunt deer on public lands any more. I think I will go with the sponsored disabled hunts and leave it at that. Jimmy

I know it aint much right now, but if you ever want to come hunt in Kansas, look up blkpwdernut or myself and we'll make sure you're taken care of.

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. Thats the part I hate is the public hunting because there are always some slob hunters there who just dont care. These idiots would get a buck and remove the privates and hang them on a branch. Now to me thats just what these tree huggers need.

Longhunter I was born and raised in Wichita I moved here 7 years ago and now regret it. I may just move back to Kansas but I have lost contact with the few farmers I knew in western Kansas so hunting might be a problem there unless I go to the Kingman public hunting grounds and there again Id be stuck hunting from my vehicle. I sure as heck cant walk that great expanse they have there.
Again guys Thanks:thumbs: Jimmy

i've heard of some pretty bad behavior from hunters, and lord knows i've witnessed my share of it, but i don't know that i have ever come across any hunter that would steal from another...

sorry it turned out like that for you.

Jimmy, like I mentioned to you on the DL forum. What goes around comes around. Scum like that dont belong in our woods. But please Jimmy, don't let these idiots turn you away from where you hunt. I know you truly love this sport so don't let some low-lifes take it away from you. Maybe you will find an able friend to hunt with, ''Believe me I know that ain't easy'', who will be able to help you get your kill out of the woods. In the meantime Jimmy, keep plugg'in and don't let the scum-bags win.

Jimmy.   That really sucks.  Big time.  I'm getting kind of livid about it right now!

One thought immediately comes to mind, since you're in Wisconsin.  Are there a lot of the Hmong hunters in the public woods?  I'm remembering the shooting last year of the hunters by that Hmong guy.  From what I've read about them, and seen for myself, they pretty much take whatever they want with no regard for rules or ethics.

I readily agree with Hunterfisher about taking someone along with you on your hunts.

Hunterfisher and Gunrunner I was pretty upset that day and am now over it and I will keep hunting that area and yes about 50% of the hunters there are Hmong. I just have to grin and bear it and go on. As far as finding someone to hunt with me it isnt easy most work and the ones that could go with me dont because they have private lands to hunt and dont want to be bothered hunting public. I have noticed that up here you can ask any land owner if you can hunt squirrels and its always sure anytime you want you are welcome but come deer season you aint allowed any where around. People here at least where Im at are real strange come deer season. I am looking for another state to move to just havent decided where yet. I will have to move in april when my lease is up because they wont renew it they say my mobile home is to old so its got to go. Thanks Jimmy
