How could a sprocket be put on a reloadin press. Seems to me if could put a sprocket on the reloading press could set up something like the pedels and sprocket off of a bicycle. The combonation would allow handicap people to use leg power to opratete the reloading press handle.
Seems to me should be able to weld or otherwise bolt a small sprocket on most. I am looking at my C H 444 pistol chanp press . could be dilled and tapped..

Even better, we have one of those old singer sewing machines, Rather than a crank, it just weaves up and down. It seems like you could shorten the handle on press, and attach foot rod to it. However, part of my reloading is the (feel) of the resistance, to ensure the case is not binding or otherwise positioned correctly. Of course, i use fairly inexpensive presses. Lee-Opress, and a RCBS RS press. Just a thought.

so the concept will be much like how old steam engines worked. will look and think about. Just seems to me should be able to come up with something for amputees or even stroke victiums that have lost some abilities. Or some one lazy like me

10-4, thats the idea. I do a lot of fab work, so I'll try to come up with a simple plan over this weekend and copy it to U. Maybe someone else will have a good idea on this site, handloaders tend to be creative folk.

maybe a small hydraulic ram.with an adjustable pressure regulator and a gauge,it could be noted how much pressure is needed for a particular operation.if something was binding,you would know it and with the proper adjustment the press would just stop.fire up the motor and use a controll valve with a lever.easy,but i would still seat primers manually

MEC has already done this with their shotshell reloaders. This is a very simple device.

Maybe it could be adapted to metallic reloading. I'm thinking Forster Bonanza has a similar arm stroke. RD
