yeah... start smoking.
seriously now... nicotine is tough, and copenhagen is a bitch. wish i had better help for ya, but i got off of copenhagen by just toughing it out. wasn't easy, and took me several failed attempts, but i haven't had any of the stuff in about 10 years now.

My brother has eaten worm dirt for about 25 years. Tough addiction. Good luck, you're gonna need it.

TG,
You've got several options that you can try, her are a few.
Nicoret type chewing gum.
Chewing gum w/ a nicoderm patch.
Chewing gum, exercise (anything to keep you busy and focused.
Perscription med from your Doctor to help you over the hump.
Self motivation and determination are what its all about. If you've ever known or seen anyone with throat or mouth cancer you'll realize that some addictions aren't worth it.

It's all matter of want. I chewed Levi Garet for many years. Blood pressure started to elevate. I chewed my last pack last summer, Threw it away and went cold turkey. I chewed a lot of gum,but think I am off the stuff now

Gene, see your Doc and get persciption for Zyban, its a mood elevator, it will not make it easier to quit but it will make things piss you off a whole lot less. I quit for three months in ganistan on it, untill I decided that warm water and MR. E's werent enough luxury for me.

I was a dipper when I was a teenager, gave it up for smokes after 3 years. Quit that 10 years ago. Just keep trying. Don't get down on yourself if you give in and have a dip. It's like practice. Someday it will stick.

Timber, When I was a kid my dad smoked a pack a day of Lucky straights. In the winter the old farmhouse wood heat made the air really dry. When we came down in the morning he'd be sitting at the table with a cloud of smoke around him and we'd all be coughing and gagging due to dry throats and smoke. Fortunately this disuaded me from ever starting. However I married a gal that smoked 3 packs a day and we were in a home business together so I was around second hand smoke all day long. Worst part of the divorce was me craving cigs. I wish you luck, it's a tough one. I know you know the risks so I hope this doesn't piss you off but here's a little extra incentive. RD

I am a smoker so I feel your pain. I have heard recently of a shot that they guarantee to work. I have been considering it myself. Check with your doctor. If I get any new info on it I will let you know.

Recon, TG guys I wish you both nothing but good. You guys are starting somthing that is about one of the toughest things to do. Nicotine is a monkey on your back that clings tight. That being said I've quit both; I started smoking when I was 15 and for awhile I smoked and chewed. I quit the chewing which for me was easy since I had the smoking to fall back on. My quitting point for chewing was when I had a dip in and was smoking at the same time. Kinda figured that was extreme so I picked up smoking a tad more and let the chewing go.
I quit smoking in 97 after trying the gum, toothpicks, just will power you name it. I finally tried Hypnosis which for me worked. I did a one on one session and it worked. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. To this day I haven't touched a cig. I can and do enjoy a good cigar every now and then which works out to about 3 a year. You guys can do this it's not going to be easy but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Also you two aren't the only one I know quitting. A buddy of mine has smoked for over 40 years and is doing it.
Take care Be safe Poacher.

From 18 to 42, I smoked 3 packs a day of Pall Mall, just got up one morning, pulled one out, looked at it and the lighter and threw it all in the trash, the last 24 years I have wanted one, but have not lit one yet. .
Hang in there, when you want to quit, you will!

Timberghozt......I wish you the very best in breaking that habit! I would try some chewing gum (sugarless for teeth sake) and now and then pop a peppermint candy in your mouth. As long as you do NOT have a sugar problem, this will help a bunch.

Timber, I know of some kids who kept night crawlers in coffee grounds and black dirt. They mixed Dad's copey about 50/50 with the bait bucket contents. Worm poop and all. One dip was all it took to cure dad forever. RD

Timberghozt, You will also shoot better when you manage to quit. Just a little extra incentive. Getting off of nicotine helped me shoot better scores.
