The problem with steroids is a double edged one, but if some people are like me with Poison Ivy, Oak and Sumac, it becomes either the steroids or the hospital.

If I try taking Diphenhydramine hydrochloride or brand name Benadryl once the resin causes the rashes, the amount is too great for me to stay awake.

So I wash down with some bleach in my water after working the fields or going thru the woods. Vinegar will have the same results for a wash down.

I spray the plants that I find with what I know that will stop the resin and kill the plants so then life goes on with out itching.

when i was way younger I used to get poison ivy rashes and scratch like heck.Old guy said to me kid you know how to get rid of that  ? I said nope he told me rub the area then soak it in vinagar and then slap a hand full of salt on it when its still wet. hurt like heck but thi rash and iching stopped next day skin peeled away like it was sun burned . Never got posin ivy again after that ??
