A lot has been being said about how Wal-Mart is going to discontinue gun sales nationwide. A lot of this has been circulated by the anti gun groups and media outlets. It is and isn't true. I went to one of the 2 local Wal-Marts by me and in one all the gun racks were empty, the other, which is a much larger Wal-Mart had plenty of guns and ammunition, and I talked to the manager of the Sporting Goods Dept. She told me that Wal-Marts new policy was that it is only going to be selling guns at the top 600 rated stores nationwide. Theres was in the top 600, the other Wal-Mart in my area was not. She also told me it was due to inventory costs, not paperwork. The Wal-Marts that fall under the top 600 bracket simply have too high of inventory cost to sales ratio to make it profitable. So that appears to be the case for now anyway. All Wal-Marts are not discontinuing guns and ammo sales. What happens in the future is anybody guess. Bill T.
