Been about 5 years or so since I last ordered from them. Very fast service, as I recall. Instock level was 100% on what I ordered, can't say that about sme others!

The order that was supposed to be shipped the next day took over a month, and the customer service guy couldn't find his ass with both hands, let alone my order.
The couple of dollars you will save by not ordering with companies such as Midway wont be worth it, the aggravation far out weighs the cost.

Well I ordered some stuff from them over the phone. The guy on the other end seemed to know his stuff and he said it was all in stock. Then I waited...and waited...So I called back last friday and the same guy says...We were hit by the storm and just got our phones back.He will check on the order when the computer system gets put back online. So far its been 13 days. Not so bad yet but I still have no idea when its coming or if its even been shipped.I saved almost 40.00 bucks on a 200.00 order which allowed me to get set up for another cal.And unless its takes months I dont mind waiting a little longer for that.I will update after the order comes in....Robin

Well heres an update on F&M...I talked to them today and they say not only didnt they have everything when I made the order but they didnt have most of it and they stil dont have it.It will be at least a week before its in and maybe 2 before its in and shipped.Looks like steel13 is right about them,Good thing it isnt something I need real quick.I ordered some lee molds along with sizing dies and a new lee 20lb melter. Now Im wondering if the wait is worth the savings. It will get me an extra 45 double mold and a lee sizer die but it looks like it will take atleast a month to get it if not more.Probably the last I order from them...I am really cheap though and do like saving money...haha   Robin

I hadn't heard of them before now.

I've had great service from Midway....but I always check with Graf's & Sons before I buy;they have excellent customer service + $4.50 flat-rate shipping ....or Natchez Shooting Supply.

For SD/HD 12 gauge ammo, the best deals I've found are at ammunitiontogo.com....

Favorite catalogs (wish books) are Brownell's, Numrich Gun Parts, or Sinclairs.

And I'd vote for Ross Perot before either of these yoyo's....

Got an update, Robin? Hope you finally got your stuff. It seemed to me that these guys have very little inventory on the shelf and rely on the manufacturers ability to ship quickly. As a matter of fact the Lee stuff that I ordered came directly from Lee.

Ya I have an update...ha...Still not in stock and they havnt shipped anything they did have in stock. But they did say they were sorry they told me it was in stock when I placed the order. The only slack I can cut them is they did go through that big storm a few weeks ago.I think you are right they simply have very little stock and I have to wait untill they  can get it.Probably the last I order from them....Robin

At the end of my ordeal with them , I finally told them to just cancel my order and refund my money. At that point the guy said that he couldn't do that because part of my order was already shipped. And it was, ..... from the manufacturer directly. I think I still had to wait a few days for the rest of it.

So today I got really bent about this deal with F&M.Not like me really but I have been patient with them to no avail. So I call Lee precision and ask them about their stock and shipping to their dealers and tell them about F&M dragging their feet. They say everything is in stock with them and could be shipped anytime if F&M wanted it.So armed with this info I call F&M...They say they will look into my order and call me back. The usual reply from them....A while later they call me back and say to expedite my order everything is being dropped shipped from Lee and they will let me know when....In the meantime I get a shipping notice from ups saying Lee precision has sent me a package...So thats 6 weeks or better with no action from f&m...but one call to lee and suddenly action...Robin

you just got to love those real world reviews you get on this site.  Anybody would be insane to deal with this f&M place.  Still love Midway there stuff always arrive before the delivery date they quote me.  It pays to have great service and is worth the money spent in my opinion.  Thanks for the 411 on this company guys

Seems ironic that a company that bases almost all of their business on the internet, would allow themselves to be so complacent, with such shoddy work practices, that it's disparaged on on the very medium that it uses as their vehicle to conduct that business.
I know boards such as this, and their members certainly pay attention to faulty suppliers, as well as members of the board whom have, through their dealings to be found  less than stellar.
Conversely, I have certainly sung the praises of those who have come through with what they said they would do, be it a company or an individual.

Well heres the final update...After calling Lee about their stock and F&M again about where everything was,my order was shipped direct from lee.It went out with their morning shipment that same day.It was posted on the UPS tracking site and stayed on schedule right up to my door.ha...I used the melter and one of the molds this evening to cast some 240g .44s.I chose the tumble lube semi wad-cutter as I had been given some in 357 and thy worked really quite nicely and I thought they might cast without too much trouble.I had a few ups and downs...too low of a temp at first...adding new lead to the pot in too large of an amount..etc...BUT I did find a happy medium and wound up with around 300 usable slugs not to mention the 200 with hollow spots or flash at the mold breaks. It was a rather enjoyable time even though it took me 4 hours to get those 300.hehe Ill be better at it next time...I must say though most all of the info I needed to do this came from this board...Thanks guys.250g rnfp's are next....Robin

I probably should move this to some other category but Im here now.I have a few questions on mold prep and care.First off Im the kind of guy that just jumps into something and kinda pushes my way through. So I tried prepping a mold with online advice but am still unsure after my first 3 tries with new lee molds. The first shot got me550 bullets but 200 were a little poorly shaped.I think I let the mold get too hot and I let too much lead get smeared around the body of the mold making for a poor fit of the blocks.I just didnt know when to slow down.PATIENCE was the lesson something I sometimes am a little short on.My second and third rounds were much better. The third shot at it I used an unprepared mold and to my surprise I cast very good bullets from the first cast to the 50th wherein I stopped.Heres my questions... whats the best stuff to lube the sprue plate area with?To keep lead from sticking etc.Is there a better mold release then smoking the mold or is smoking the best?It seemed to work for me...And is there something to coat the outside of the mold with to keep lead from building up and keeping the blocks from closing tightly?Lastly How do you moderate the temp of the mold blocks so you dont get them too hot?At one point I had it where I could cut the sprue but the base of the bullets would kinda smear when I struck the cutter,Im guessing it was way too hot.Do you just slow down the tempo or can you use something like a wet towel???Thanks in advance...Robin

Kurt,

Have you called them? I have a couple of vendors who are beyond 6 months on a few things, but they are cataloged items that they make when they have enough orders built up and enough production time available to make the items.

The best thing to do is to talk to them. Some times they throw in a few extras for your trouble.

Jerry
