Can anyone reccomend a quality holster for concealed carry what do you use? I am going to be packing a sub compact springfield armory 40 most of the time and would like to pack my kimber 4 inch .45 other times. I know this will require two holsters just wondering if anyone has any good experience with anything. I think maybe an in the waistband holster would work good for me most of the time. Thanks in advance for your help. pat

I like the jack slide holsters by Galco and some other makers. One holster should do the job for you, if both guns are 1911-style frames. They make them for other makes and models, as well. I curse the day I traded my Galco slide holster off. What was I thinking????

For IWB carry, it is difficult to beat the Crossbreed Supertuck. Very comfortable and amazingly concealable even for a full size 1911. For on the belt carry, I favor the El Paso Saddlery Company's #88 Street Combat. I have three of them - 9mm Star Firestar, .45 Combat Commander, and Beretta 92. On a related issue, a high quality gun belt is one of the most important acquisitions you will make for concealed carry. You simply can't do without the proper belt. I have found none better than the Galco line of belts... none!

for work (suit or shirt and tie) i wear a galco usa holster for my j-frame. for outside of work, i have tried a lot of holsters and my current favoritest is a leather deal by blackhawk... i really like that holster for owb carry of a service size gun. it has just the right cant and the design of the belt loops pulls the holster in tight to the body.
regardless of gun size/weight and holster design, a good gun belt is critical, and the bigger and heavier the gun, the more critical a gun belt is. so don't overlook this component for your carry piece.

I like the Crossbreed Supertuck but I also have a few Kholsters. The Kholsters are much cheaper and you can modify them to suit yourself. I know they are ugly but its for Concealed Carry, who cares.

After wearing an OWB kydex for years (sportcoat and tie on duty, while a pain in it's own right, sure makes CCW easier). Lately doing PS for golf/tennis/etc. kind of guy so lots of casual stuff, even shorts (and CCW got a lot harder!). I put my vote in for the Crossbreed Super Tuck* as well. Really invisible with a casual shirt, untucked; and only minor printing on tucked in shirts as well. For the concealment side - clothing selection is just as important as the holster, tight shirt equals obvious print. Big ditto on Quiet Man's point about a good gun belt; not only for comfort/support; but also to assist with maintaining concealment with a nice straight belt line (none of that telltale "strong side droop"). *I have two, my long time favorite Colt Combat Cdr, and more recently got one for a Ruger SR9c. The Colt is always my first choice - but that shorthandled Ruger is definitely easier to conceal.
