Due to recent problems with bots and spammers,we have been forced to use an administrative activation function to control this problem. It is still very simple to register with us though. When you register, you will receive an email from myself that contains an activation url link.Click on that link and it will activate your membership but you will not be able to post yet.
Any admin here see you have registered can instantly activate your membership as a full member here. You will be given full membership privileges in no later than 24 hours from the time you register, but it will normally be much faster than that.
We value each and every member here and your right to view and use this board without being subjected to unwanted solicitation while you are here.
We apologize for having this minor inconvenience but it appears to be the only way to stop spamming and unwanted solicitation links on our board.
Tasunka Witko will go into this a bit further with a formal write about this..

As for now, this thread is only for new members awaiting activation if they have any problems. You are allowed to post in this thread to notify us of any problems you might have.

I ask that no  regular members comment on this thread anywhere. This is only for Admins/Founders to help members awaiting activation with tech problems..

to all members -

as you know, the HB has been having a little trouble with spammers, autobots, pornbots and other assorted vermin on our site. in spite of polite requests for them to knock it off and some measures that we have taken in order to thwart them, they continue to worm their way though the cracks, where they proceed to try to create trouble for us and for you, our loyal members.

with that in mind, we're switching over to a new membership procedure whereby all new accounts will require approval from an admin member, who will be able to review the prospective member and make a judgement call on whether to allow membership or not. PLEASE NOTE that this new procedure will NOT affect current, existing members.

admin approval might take up to 24 hours, but it should eliminate problems such as those we have been having here. if any new member has questions or problems with this new procedure, please let us know here.

thanks for your help on this one, guys - we hope that this will go one step farther in protecting your internet privacy and enjoyment of this forum!

Hello handloader bench, I hope I have something to contribute, I have been loading sence age 14 with a lee loader for my single shot 12 gauge, aL-7 and alcan wads, then my folks got me a rcbs jr and a set of dies for my 30 remington , a model 8 remington,, ( I just found a look like new one at a yard sale for a hundred bucks,, but thats a nother story) my first experance with centerfire loading was to stick the UNLUBED case in the die and have to go see a gunsmith to get it out. I take my own out now.

I am 57 , retired form oregon dept of transportation, and load for everything, my  favorite press is a RCBS A2. I keep a JR handy as a second stage, helps sometimes. I am working up some loads for my 9.5" bbled 454 ruger that has more problems than you can shake a stick at, any one that wants to buy one e-mail me I have a story that my change your mind, it has been to the factory, they say it is fine, for them yes. Me No. have a good one,, Dave Culver the antimoligest (weed killer) tordon22k.:javatime:

Greetings handloaders I'm new to this posting thing.  I have been reloading for 45 years pistol and rifle.  I enjoy handloading and making an old gun shoot again.  My current project is for my son who has the big Desert Eagle auto in 50 AE.  I have located some Rainer plated bullets which I am interested in putting through this auto.  The DE has a polygonal style bore and a gas port, not a lead bullet friendly barrell. But I have found one report of the Rainer bullets working well in the DE at 1200 fps to as fast as 1400 fps, 1400 fps is a bit beyond what Rainer recomends for max speed.  However I do not have a suggested powder or starting load.  Rainer suggests using lead bullet loads as a start and not exceeding 1250 fps. The loads I have found for the 50 AE are for 300 and 325 gr bullets and the Rainer is 335 grs.  Any feed back on this project would be appreciated.    ----   Bill

Howdy all ya'll!

New guy "on the block" here. Not trying to sound sappy............

I have been reloading for around 30 years, was a gunsmith and ffl holder for most of that time. Moved BACK to Texas about 5 years ago and semi-retired. Can't seem to find anyone in this area (West of the metro mess about an hour by Granbury and Stephenville). I'm sure I can bring a butt load of knowledge to this forum and will try to mind my place:lol:.  I love the old ones and concentrate on the cartridge conversion era (handguns and rifles). But my background was IPSC and Three gun. My gunsmithing experience centers around both with SAA's and 1911's being my passion....

PM me if ya wanna talk

Have a guudun!

A friend of mine sent me the note below. He's not a rookie around the net but seems to be having a problem signing up. What should I have him do? Thanks........LAH

Creeker. I see you are in The Handloaders Bench. A cpouple of days ago, I tried joining up, filled out all the proper spaces and entered. Supposedly, I should have gotten an E-mail to finish up the signing in, but it never came. I tried again, but it would not accept my screen name so I used my other screen name. In both cases, no return E-mail. If you would be so kind as to notify whoever runs the show about this problem, I
sure would appreciate it. Thanks
