Well, this isn't my first post, but I thought I should say a few things here about myself. I've been shooting for about 30 years now. My dad started me young. Sometime around middle school or high school, my dad started reloading. He couldn't get me to stay away. I helped him off and on. Then sometime after college, he bought me my first reloading press. It is a Hornady LNL AP. I still use it today. I think they paid like $250 for it. I use it weekly it seems.
I load for 5.56(223 Rem in AR15), 300 WSM, 375 JDJ, 38 Spcl, 357 mag, 40 S&W, 45 ACP and 45 LC. In the past I have loaded 30-30 and 30-06, but those guns are not with me anymore.
I load to make better ammo and to save a bit on it. For me it is always a balance. I don't buy high dollar bullets hoping for a magic pill, but I do experiment around in my price range to find good bullets and loads. My bottleneck cases always fit my guns as perfectly as possible. I also tend to do alot of case prep(uniforming primer pockets, uniforming flash holes, matching case to chamber length, matching COAL to loaded round OAL. This is my reward in handloading.
I focus on:
1) Good components
2) Good equipment
3) Perfect case fit/OAL to chamber
4) Good performance accuracy/velocity/cost
I plan to participate here semi-regularly and I hope I can offer some valuable advice and receive some valuable advice.
Thanks for making this available.
