Let me introduce myself a little bit.

My name is Adrian I work in Law Enforcement in Southern New Mexico for the DA's office. I've been doing LE for 9+ years. Almost have way to retirement.

I began late in my hunting career and I just loaded my first reloads this past Saturday. I began hunting 3 years ago. So far I have harvested a mule deer and an Elk.

I began so late because my father hated guns and all I could have was a Daisy BB gun. I killed Quail illegal when I was a kid with some pretty good head shots. The good news this year was that my father killed a Blacktail deer in Oregon and now I am planning on going hunting with him.

I purchased my own pistol when I was 19, I forced my mother to sign for it. Then she "gave" it to me as a birthday present.

I found this site because I own a 300 WIn Mag and I want to reload for it. I was having a discussion with a fellow co-worker about the 300 WSM and 300 Win Mag and I was just looking for info. Well I found it here and I thought it would be cool to be a member. I own several rifles and I use a 1911 .45 for work. I want to reload for all my firearms.

I am married for 4 years now. My wife has gone Quail hunting with me and I stared down the barrel of her 20 gauge. I am glad she did not fire. I started calling her Dick Cheney Jr. for a few weeks. Anyways my Father in law was the first person to take me hunting. The experience was weird, I bought a deer because a felon had shot it. Then we left with the deer. The last hunt I just went on was a pack hunt. Approximately a 10 mile pack into the Gila Wilderness. I had a blast.

My Fatehr in law has a large collection of reloading tools, I don't know what they all are but intend to find out!

I am now a full blown gun nut and I can't wait to buy another gun!

welcome aboard and congrats on your deer and elk!

'bout anything you care to know about guns and reloading is available to you on this site.

as for the 300's, i have both a wsm and win mag - solid game killers.

rl-19 for the wsm, and rl-22 for the win mag... those are the keys to happiness in those two!

the whitetail in my avatar was busted w/ a 300 win mag, rl-19, 165's, and fed 215's in ww cases at roughly 400 yards.

Welcome, though there are no "gun nuts" here. I'm a CFA (chronic Firearms Addict) myself, many others here are too. See, if you use "addict" in the description, gun haters are less likely to judge as harshly. Addiction is never your fault, don't yoiu know! Many knowledgeable, friendly people here.

Hello Lawdog,

I am new to reloading also, but I believe we have found a great resource of knowledge on this sight and also some friends who are like minded in guns and ammo. Good luck and keep shooting.

That LE virus is a tough one to shake, once it gets into your blood. It seems to attack most those with a heart for service to others.

Same thing goes for handloading. Been doing that for over 25 years now and it still beckons on a daily basis. Sometimes life intervenes and I have to "just say no" to my loading bench for a day or two. But it's a comfortable place to settle in some of these cold winter nights whilst the better half is watching Christmas movies on "Lifetime".

Million? Geez, the Sportsman's Warehouse here seems to be running about an 80% out of stock rate on handloading stuff. Count yourself lucky they had it!

They had the Federal large rifle magnum primers here. But since I don't have much in the way of reloading I saw a lot of things I still need!!

Not just primers....about a half dozen bags of brass, Sierra bullets are GONE, Hornady almost gone, do have some Speers on the shelf. Powder stock rate seems about 50%, scope inventory is way, way down. Apparently management is worried about tying up dollars in inventory.
