All did not go well this weekend..

The boy was shaking pretty badly behind the rifle on Saturday morning.  Just not sure if he wants to hunt(where things that live don't comeback to life-PlayStation hunter)....  He took a shot one a fat doe, but I couldn't find blood, bone, or hair anywhere around the immediate area she was standing.  If nothing else, it was a clean miss?!?

I sent about three hours combing through every square inch that was in a 200 yard circle, and no results.  He wasn't much into looking, but if he made a bad shot-he was gonna be looking for her!  He's not bummed about it, so if I had to guess he held off target and sent a spoiler downrange into a tree(he knows better then to put projectiles in the air).

Maybe next time....but at least we saw one(six actually)!

It happened today!

Took this 8-pt at 10:34am, guess it pays to stay on the stand all day instead of doing the BS-thing at the main campsite?  Watched everyone running down the roads all morning(returning to camp), and just sat tight.

This is the loving wife that likes to accompany me to the woods.  We we're sitting 20feet off the ground in the "Guard Shack tower stand", and this deer was on a mission to meet my freezer!  Kept coming straight at me until reaching 80-ish yards(think he finally saw the muzzle from the stand)?

Not a huge deer by my standards, but I thought he'd fit the freezer?  Live weight was 180#, dressed at 130#.....not bad for a 2.5year old deer!

It'll make for some good rattling antlers!  He got broke off fighting with my high rack about a week ago...didn't win from the looks of it?

Three tags left, and just under 30 days for firearm, and 90-ish left of bow hunting!

Haven't had much time for the thing I enjoy the most, but with rifle seasons ending....  The woods will calm down and I can finally get serious about taking a whitetail with my bow.  Here is an example of what is waiting out there!

Either one of these guys will fill a tag nicely.  But given the chance, I'd like to let them go for one more season, as they both look pretty young(2.5, maybe 3.5? on the thick one).

Scott (enjoy the video) B
