to all -

thanks to a great idea from scott (sdb777) we've created a new forum for hunting diaries/blogs. the intent of this forum is for members to set up a diary for hunting. each topic that is opened will be a separate diary where members can record their experiences, lessons learned etc.

members are free to create as many diaries as they need and are encouraged to keep them separate (e.g., keep the 2007 antelope season separate from other years or other species hunted) and keep them complete (scouting, preparations, equipment, the hunt itself etc.).

Everyone is free to read the blogs, but please keep in mind that it is set up for the use of the individual member. please do not reply on a diary unless the member authorizes replies in his opening post. if you want to discuss something with the member, send a PM or open up a topic in the big game forum. be advised that unauthorized replies MIGHT be deleted.

to create a diary, simply open up a new topic in this forum. for the sake of consistency, the title of the topic/diary should include:
  • the username
  • the year/season
  • the activity
for example, if i were to create a diary for mule deer hunting next year, it would read:

Tasunkawitko's 2008 Mule Deer Diary

or for antelope season this year:

TasunkaWitko's 2007 Pronghorn Diary

you get the idea.

if the word "diary" doesn't fit, then don't worry about it.

Bloggers should set out in the opening post what their diary is all about and should also specify whether or not replies would be welcome.

any questions, please reply to the this thread or send a PM. this forum might take a little bit of tweaking, but in the end i think it will really be something useful for members.

I kinda like writing up a story with pics up in the big game or varminting sections right after something interesting has happened.  Can we us this area as kind of a photo summary area?  Title a topic like "klallen's 2007 Hunting Diary" and then post photos in order of how hunts went down, with small captions telling where when how big what used, with who.  Kinda keep it simple but still give anyone interested a capsule of what's going on for a particular person in a given year.  Just curious.
