I have Tac & Varget on hand with 125gr .310 diameter sp. But any recipes will be a big help.

Todd, I checked out the Hodgdons and Ramshot sites and neither lists those powders for the 7.62 X 39. It appears as though they might be on the slow side for that cartridge. RD

Here is a link to a Guns & Ammo Magazine article and load data for the 7.62x39 with the powder(s) you mentioned.

http://gunsandammomag.com/cs/Satellite/IMO_GA/Story_C/The+7.62X39?packedargs=pagenum%3D2

Speer HP
130
RS TAC
Federal 210
Winchester
26.0
30.0
2,350

If your using 125 Gr. bullets start at 26.0 grains and slowly work your way up.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

i used to use h322 then i switched to aa1680 (that stuff rocks in that application !!!) but then i purchased massive quantities of aa2200 and thaz all i use anymore in it but the 1680 is worth looking into ( it was designed with that cartridge in mind btw )sadly the aa2200 was a once off tho they reintroduced it years later it wasnt quite the same as the original lot

Interesting this article show such a difference in load data for H110 and 296.

I am in a slightly different situation, I have a Mini 30 that has a .308 barrel, not a .310 or a .311. I shoot a Remington 125 grain bullet in mine, but I can't find any load data for the powders you want to use, I like Rx7 for my loads, 26 grains works well for me.

Thanx for the feed back!!

I did pickup 1lb of reloader 7. So between the three there should be a winner.

From Sierra's manual.

.308 Sierra 125gr SP

RL7 - 23.3gr - 26.3gr

OAL = 2.185"

The only thing I came up with for .310 bullets

Todd

The faster powders seems to perform better than Varget. Ive had good luck with such powders as RL-7, H4198 & H335 with Winchester Brass and LRP.

I'm currently loading my 7.62x39 using a 130 grain cast GC bullet with 22 grains of H335. It is shooting and grouping well out of my SKS but the AK47 will not group any better than 6" at 50 yards with it.
Both rifles cycle well with the load.
I can't help you with the Tac or Varget powders as I do not use them.

For plinking 15g of 2400 is great. As Ed Harris said it cycle well and it dumps the cases right at your feet.

Interesting this article show such a difference in load data for H110 and 296.

The 110 and 296 were not shown side by side with the same bullet weights.

I reload for an SKS and a VZ 58 but I can't seem to push lead as fast as the steel cased commie fodder does. Using the hornady 123gr SP like todd, I am maxed out with both AA2230(30gr in Speer#13) and IMR 4198. I get no pressure signs with either and they both shoot pretty well. However, brown bear and wolf achieves almost 2400 fps while my reloads are barely getting over 2200 fps. I might go ahead and run the compressed load w/4198 and see how it does. As far as your powders go, I think you will run out of case to make the varget work for you but Tac has good potential. Sorry, I've got no specific recipes for that powder though. Hey Todd, what kind of speed are you getting out of that RL 7???

I do not have a chronograph. I broke my VZ58 in with 500rds of Fiocchi 123gr sited in at 50 & 100 yards. My reloads are shooting the same as far as no need to adjust sights. I do give a firm taper crimp dont know if it makes any diff on muzzel velocity.
