It was built on a Remington 700 action. 26" barrel. It was a 25 06 Sendero. I actually took it as a form of payment from a class 3 dealer. I didnt know it but it was already shot out when I got it. I am ordering a 28" barrel for it in the next few weeks. There are pics of the rifle on here somewhere. I hope to get over 4000 f.p.s. after I replace the barrel.

Cool your at your computer. I wonder if you might have a suggestion. I shoot a 22-250AI I just received some 80gr Berger VLDs .I've learned that IMR 4007SC has produced high velocity but don't know what a starting point charge would be.I logged onto IMR web page. The closest load they have a 36.5grs pushing a 70gr bullet in a standard 22-250. I wonder if I can get a clue from that.

I have never shot anything that heavy in mine. I have also never used a bullet that heavy in my 22-250's. Just start there and chrony the loads until you get to the velocity you want.

I like my 25 STW . I'm running 3850 with Rel 25 and the Barnes 100 gr TS . I could care less about barrel life , when it goes i will replace it. I like the performance  you get with this round. My Elk dropped in his tracks with the above load at 492 yards. Every thing has a price. High performance cars cost you more gas and motor wear and high performance rifles cost you more powder and shorter barrel life, you don't get performance for nothing.

I agree I shoot my 6x284 at red line. I did find a good load for my 22-250 AI  shooting 80gr Bergers. 43.3grs of H4831 is producing 3350 FPS. For the catagory this rifle falls in, that's a 500 yard coyote load.:roflmao:

In my 257 stw i am running 110 grain accubonds at an average of 3718 fps,  It dropped an elk for my wife this year at 400 yards.  And i have shot numereous elk with it out to 600 yards.  It also makes a great coyote gun out to 600 is as fara as i have kills on coyotes. I love this round and i am with you guys when the barrel goes it will just be replaced.  I will look and get the powder charge it is retumbo but i cant remember the weight.  Hope this helps Pat.

The above load is 87.5 grains of retumbo, cci 200 primer and 110 grain nosler accubond.  It is a max load in my rifle, so start below this and work up.
