I own several Marlins, including a 444 Marlin. Too bad that Ranch Dog Molds is out of business, he designed great molds for the Marlin rifles.
For a 240 grain lead bullet:
Powder Start Load Max Load
SR4759 25gr 28gr (best load 26.5gr)
RX7 17gr 41gr
IMR 3031 40gr 45gr
For 240 grain Jacketed Bullet
Powder Star Load Max Load
IMR 3031 48gr 54gr
IMR 4198 44gr 48.5gr (best load is 46.5)
RX7 46gr 50gr
Hope this helps,
Jerry

Thanks for the info...is it true that you can use the .44 bullets for the .444?

I do, never had any problems doing this. I checked my Lyman reloading manual #49, they list the same bullets for 44 Mag and 444 Marlin.

My standard load is Lee's 310 grain .430 GC bullet over 40.0 grains of IMR 3031. Not a hot load, but plenty for whiteails where I live.

If you use the Honady 265gr Interlocks, be sure it's the newer style bullet, the older style is not around any more except some at the gun shows. If they "fly" any different I don't know as I have not got that far yet.

I have a Marlin 444P (Outfitter), and mine loves the LeverEvolution ammo. Puts 3 rounds into .75" at 100yds.

I have tried the LEVERevolution ammo, it does perform much better than many other brands. As that I cast bullets and reload my own, there is one thing I found out about this ammo, the case is slightly shorter than other cases in the same caliber.

I have owned a 444 for some time, since 1969 ! I use mine to hunt and to shoot Cowboy Silhouette.
Here are three more loads for you:
215 gr Lyman GC 17gr Unique
255 gr Lyman (240gr mould) 12 gr Unique
240 XTP, Lyman Book accuracy load for 4064. I do not have my book with me right now but this load is very hard on whitetails. A shot behind the shoulder leaves a nice clean, empty, chest cavity.
Oh, the 215 gr load in my old 444 shoots 1 inch at 200 yards. It is my Cowboy Silhouette load.
Best,
Ed
