Due to my state going to lottery system for big game and not having been drawn for anything in the past few years, I am going to bowhunting.  Went with a nephew on an elk bow hunt in northern New Mexico.  He got a 4X4 with a PSE Dream Season at 70#.  I believe he used an aluminum arrow with Slick Trick broadhead 100 gr.

I am waiting to get my bow.  Ordered a Diamond Iceman at 60#.  Due to illness, laziness and age, I lost a lot of strength and cannot pull a 70#.  I believe it will do what I want to do.  Heard lots of excellent reviews on the Iceman.  I ordered it with the Whisker Biscuit rest, Spott Hogg sight and should be ready to shoot when I get it.  Anybody using the Iceman and what do you think about it?

We are planning to hunt same area next year.  Chances of getting bow license are very good.  Rifle tags are hard to get.

I got my Diamond Iceman and have been shooting it.  Using Gold Tip Traditional and Beman Bowhunter 400 arrows.  The bow is great.  Very quiet and accurate.  I prefer the Gold Tip arrows.

Congrats on the new bow. Sounds like a solid set-up.

Without a doubt a 60lb bow will get the job done, the bows are so efficient these days.

My brother shoots Slick Tricks, he has taken elk and deer with them, short vivid blood trails on all of them. Great true flying heads.

I'll be using Slick Tricks.  Hunting proclomation just came out.  Have to apply by April.  Got sick in Dec so I haven't done any shooting.  Got to start again and getting my body in shape.  I live in 3200 elevation and the hunting is around 8000 to 8500 elevation.  Oh well, something to look forward to.  Area is too difficult to take horses so have to walk.

Okay, I've waited for a report on the hunt long enough.....

Inquiring minds want to hear a hunting story involving a bow!!
