I would think that it can be used in any cartridge that can use a .224 cast bullet at cast bullet speeds.
I intend to use it in our 223 Savage model 10.
It doesn't really have much of a special shape, even though it looks that way...... It is "special" in that Lee only produces it for Midsouth shooters and they only seem to order a couple times a year. So, it can be a long wait for someone that wants one.

actually it is special ....it was designed to be closer to a bore riding projectile with a flat point to give better umm wullop factor and it's also special because it's as guy said a limited run and lee doesnt catalog any rifle molds under 7 mm
