There we some really great rifles that were made or re-manufactured during the 20th Century, Many of them have bored that are well loved and the rifling is worn out.
Over the years I have owned many of these rifles, some were re-barreled and others were shoot as is.
Of recent times, I bought a Spanish FR8 in 308win or 7.62 NATO. The barrel was worn, but not too badly. It was $100 rifle back during the Clinton years. I got a Ranch Dog has mold that is .311 and 165 grain in weight. It makes that old FR8 shoot extremely well.
Now my only problem with the FR8 is that strange largest hole in the rotating sight disk, the only thing I can figure out is for "way the heck out there".
So with some bullets, these older rifles can become useful again.
