EPA regulations are already pretty stiff on lead. The new administration is doing it's best to make reloading supplies and ammo easily obtained. An obvious attack on reloaders would be new regulations on lead which would make obtaining lead very difficult.

The EPA went after obvious hazards in the first couple of years of its existence. Now, to demonstrate the nned for funding, it goes after substances that, though they CAN be toxic, are much less likely to be accidentaly introduced into the body and cause either acute or chronic problems.

My industry deal with those folks regularly, thank God I don't have to.

If they ban lead, just think how hard it'll be to start your car in the morning!!

What California does it seems the rest follows.
I sure hope it dose not happen but fear it's to late. Here in Canada they already tax the crap out of bullets, what cost 15 bucks few years back is now 39$.
Pot but no lead right. Socialist:stoner:'s suck!

anything that seems idiotic isnt beyond any branch of gubbamint meddling worse ....their if it isnt broken fix it until it is mentality kinda bites ( and more than just our wallets ) but just like the old saying ....'when guns are outlawed only outlaws will have guns"..outlawing something that occurs in nature is a exercise in futility and at the cost of more tax payer's monies ( like they cant think of a better reason to tax us or spend the money on geez)i see it as a power play -they want control and wont rest until they get it in one form or another ,no one died from leaded gasoline yet they took it out for cleaner air ..the funny thing ? the sulfur etc in the air from leaded gas actually helped keep the earth cooler ( so much for cleaner air )seems the particles in the air that they banned also helped reflect sunlight and radiation from the earth add to that what t.g. said ..wish them fools actually had a real life instead of tryin to control others ...they say for our interest but who makes the big paychecks and better yet who is the unwitting victims who pay for their paychecks ? ( i demand a refund ! )

I find the EPA to be a strange organization. The state and federal EPA had a building in Columbus, Ohio. This combined group were "Hell on Wheels" (sorry 2nd Armored), they actually closed own some major hotels for asbestos and lead pipes. Apartment buildings were given order to abate all sorts of problems, they just torn the buildings down. A casket factor seemed to vanish after the EPA came in, the oak floor planking with was very thick and classified as clear wood, had 600 times the allowable limit of heavy metals in it. The owner torn it down, shoved everything in to the foundation and poured a concrete cap on it.

The Ohio penitentiary, this was in the beginning of the movie Brubaker, after the walls fell down, the EPA said it was too contaminated to do anythign with it, so the city who owned it at that time shoved every thing into the foundation and put a parking lot on top of it for the hockey arena district. The prison sits next to one of the major rivers that goes thru Columbus. Remember we all live down river from some one.

Maybe the EPA should have looked in their backyard first, their building was closed for asbestos, lead pipes, improper waste disposal and a few other issues.

With the network that bullet casters and home reloaders have going, lead will be hard to control for a few decades to come.

Jerry

Am sure the restrictions will increase but it will be a  long time before they will ban it completely. wc

do ya really think they are after just the lead ? i recall when they used to sell arsenate of lead to kill bagworms ...i also believe many such places were bulldozed in it's own hole ,there's one small mining(lead) town i read about they're moving the whole town ..even tho the lead affects many many miles in the area and has affected generations of humans,as mankind crowds more and more of the world weirder stuff will come to pass...how much chemicals dumped in our world messes it up more than the lead ever could ,round here if a scavenger caught a case of lead poisoning it wouldnt be such a bad thing ( we have spare scavengers..plenty in washington to choose from among other places )scott's mostly right...not counting the fanatic anti's ,they wanted to micro stamp every bullet, every firing pin etc etc and yes taxes figured heavily into it or rather at it's basest - greed erm greed and control ,with the stuff they was fantasizing on in some of the bills that are still on the table if you all recall we would instantly be felons ( as if the umm domestic terrorist wasnt enough...)and never forget supposedly it is us that suddenly became ( in their eyes ) responsible for the guns and war and murder and mayhem in mexico...[sigh]the government that turns it tax paying citizens into scapegoats will always have to raise taxes another way because they just killed the goose with the golden egg..they raised the taxes on fuel fuel went higher people bought less resulting in even less taxes with the newer added tax ..ditto on tobacco almost ditto on alcohol as well ( it's a fine line )just think ...to make or possess an untaxed munition round would be a felony ... almost a reality if they get their way -and they are pushing for it and almost all of our allies and definitely our close neighbors -mexico doesnt want us to have guns ( except those that they buy and then allow to be sold/given/traded/or stolen by the cartel connections )the epa attack is just another thinly disguised way to harass us and make it less profitable for us while enhancing their own ....after all they dont want thought ..they dont want answers or truths ( they have their ummm own) they dont want free men ...they want sheeple ( umm end of rant soz )

(edit for a couple blatant typos lolz )

We could have a French Connection for lead, then name a fried chicken place after our fearless hero.

This is a subject that is strange, because we tried to get mercury out of the retail market, except all of those energy saving curly flourescent light bulbs have a touch of mercury in them.

There will be lead out there for many decades to come, because people will recycle their lead, mine out target ranges and find out junk yards that are closed. Those who are lucky maybe sitting on a lead mine. Smelting lead isn't that difficult.

I think that eventually it might happen, but sure hope not in the next four years. I'm hearing in fishing circles that there is an attempt to ban lead sinkers.

Swampshooter,

I have those folks who cast sinkers coming over and want to buy pure lead from me on a regular basis.

The can use DU for what they do.
