This a clip from the Showtime Website:

http://www.sho.com/site/locknload/home.do

Not sure what it's all about, but I will DVR it.

I'd be very interested to watch this. Guns and gun ownership have had a lot of bad PR lately, with the gun show sting, shootings, teen violence blamed on guns, etc. I hope this won't be yet another anti-gun program.

i tend to agree that it almost makes me wish i still watched tv lolz i also hope it's a positive thing ,like dragon said there's been alot of bad publicity lately even sadder they try to blame the gun instead of the person using it , as if the gun had a mind of it's own ,i cant blame a inanimate object for anything nor can i figure out why those who do just dont accept their own responsibilities....let me know how it turns out plz ..it may be worth buyin the dvd after the season for ( and i do watch movies and some shows -just not on tv )

I hate how they always show the bad stereotypes of gun owners on these shows. The sleazy looking guy trying to buy an "assault rifle", guys blasting away on what is made to look like a "compound", inexperienced shooters made to fire a .44 Mag, etc. Why not do a show about the elderly gentleman who was able to defend himself and his family from a violent home invasion with his legally owned firearm?

You have to remember that I live in an area that is God and Guns. This show should be interesting.

Have enough reality in my life, don't need to watch more of it. IME, "reality TV" is anything but.

Wouldn't watch it even if I had Showtime.

I need a good laugh now and then, reality shows, that's going to the Township Trustees meeting or the village council meeting in the town up the road, or watch my congressman back out of a public meeting because of 15 protesters who are at his door.

I like the show Pawn Stars, it isn't that real, could be, but it is entertaining.

Nice example of unsafe gun handling when that woman drew and ponted two guns at the camera. Glad I wasn't there as there would have been one severe ass chwing like right now.

It's great .... I love when people bring in swords and firearms and even old military uniforms and they tell their story of how they got it and the story that was told to them when they received it.....There's some stuff that people bring in that I would love to make a nice display with at my house.

Gnarly,

I believe than you can get episodes from sho.com after they have "aired", depending on the speed of your connection.

I don't normally get Showtime (don't actually subscribe to any of the "big 3 movie chanels" (Sometimes I wish I wanted to, for things like "Penn & Teller's Bulls##t"), so I haven't seen THIS Lock & Load, but, I sure enjoy the one R. Lee Ermey does, on Discovery Channel perhaps???

Although, if evil watermellon killing doesn't sit well with ya, best to avoid this one. ;)

History/evolution of the shotgun was a particular favorite, from the Blunderbus, thru the Wells Fargo Coachgun, Browning's lever-action, his pump, then his A-5, then, the new "super-full-auto" for the millitary (50-rnd drum, and virtually no recoil.)

I watched episode 3 tonight and it proved that a fool is born every moment. A guy wanted to know what it is like to be tazed and his friend talked him in to it.

Gotta love those people.

I don't know what it's like to "ride the lightning" as my local PD friends refer to it.

I have not lipped off to any PD folks to get shown.

I'm not nearly curious enough to get talked into it voluntarilly, "just for fun".

Ermey's version needs better writers and research. The segment on automatic rifles featured the French designed and produced Chauchat automatic rifle of WW I. Whined about it not being as good as, say, a US M14. No metion of the several generations of design that had passed between the two, or that the Chauchat was rushed into production as a wartime expedient. That part is sort of forgivable, being kinda subjective.

When they identified the caliber as the "8.5 millimeter Lebelle", I decided I could find something better to watch.
