I'd love a single-shot, silly-long-range rifle and the 338 Lapua really has me curious.

Anybody shot one?  I'd suppose the recoil is pretty outrageous, but I've heard the accuracy beats the 50 BMG (until the 338 runs out of steam), and the 50's are a bit more than I'd like to invest in.

Any info on this enigma would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have the Laupa but I do have the 338 RUM.  Recoil??? What recoil? :homer:
It can be pretty stout, especially when shooting from the bench.  It is not unbearable though.  When I am out in the field shooting I really don't even notice it.  I don't shoot long range with it but it should do the trick.  One key is to watch the eye relief of the scope.  Get too close and it can smart.  I have hit steel plates at 400 yards and deer at 350 with no problems.

Here's mine.

And the day I got it.

The recoil on this model is like shooting an FN FAL, real easy on the shoulder.  My friends GF shot this without issue, and she weighs in about 120lbs.

Costs about $6.00/round to shoot, or $2.00/reloaded round.

One needs to reload for this caliber.

AHHHHHH that is a sexy bit of shooting divinity who needs viagra when you post a picture like that:thumbs: That has got to be fromm Russ at Prarie Tac in Winnepeg ohhhhhhh if I could just get the funds! well truth be known the funds are no problem I am just not allowed to have as much as something like that would cost. I do have it good though I got three new shooters this year including a nice o/u stocked in dark turkish walnut. Nice rifle actually beautyful rifle I am somewhat jealous:wink:
