I'm hopeing someone here will be able to help me out. I have a close friend who is a, Judge. He told me his elderly neighbor has a, Winchester 30-30 Mod. 1894 w/ saddle ring, for sale. Said he could get it for me for, $300.00. He said it looks in pretty good shape, except that the front sight is missing. Our area gunsmith has closed down and I don't have anywhere to take it for valuation. Any of you fella's know if this would be a good deal? I realize that the 94's have gone up in value since Win. stopped making them.  Thanks.

Kenny

Sounds very cheap esp for a saddle ring model. Course the gun market out here in the plains states is higher it would seem then around the great lakes and that country and i dont know where your at but location varies value alot. Out here pre64 winchester 94s in any shape at all will still bring over 600 dollars. Post 64s i would imagine still would go for 400 up here. But if its in decent shape i dont think you could go wrong for 300 dollars if you were in Wyoming or Montana.

I recieved the rifle today. It wasn't what I expected. It's a post 64 Winchester. The rifle is in excellent shape. No scratches and the blueing is perfect. I found the rifle in my old , Blue Book, ''2004,'' of gun values. It's the, ''Model 94 Antique Carbine. This book was printed before, Winchester, stopped making the 94 and it says the rifle is worth, $250.00 in 100% condition. Would any of you fella's have the new addition of this book? I would like to know the price of it now. I know all the 94's went up in value. Mfg. date says, 1964- 1983. Will appriciate any help you can give.

Thanks, Ken

Steel, I was just fix'in to send you a reply. Thanks for the help, bud, but I won't need the sight afterall. It has one on it. Somehow, I heard the fellow wrong. Now I'm haveing a problem trying to find ammo for it.  Would you believe their is not a box of 30-30 ammo in a 50 mile radius of me? Not even at wal-mart. Well, I did find one box at the hardware store in the town over,  but he wanted, $32.00 for it. Just a plain ole box of, Rem. Core-Lokt, 150 gr. I told him what he could do with them. Obama, has got to go. He can't get our guns, so he's taking our ammo.

Ken
