I was in an Antique Store today and came across a S&W Model 29 Box. The Box is in good condition and the end flap reads as follows.

Model  Caliber  Barrel  Fin  Stock  Features

   29        .44         4      B       TS    TT  TH  RR  WC

Serial AYM 56xx

It includes the Owners Manual, Warranty Card, and the Unopened Tool Package with a cleaning rod, bore brush, bore mop and thumb screwdriver.

I picked it up for trading stock ( I really have no use for it) I wondered what year it might be. Any ideas?  RD

Go here:
http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CustomContentDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=11101&content=25301§ionId=10504

And print out a form, include $50, and they will tell you the history of it.
