I bought some range brass and it arrived today. Nice stuff. All tumbled. Virtually no junk. There were some cases I'd like to ID though. There were 21 cases headstamped KFA .233 Rem. and 22 cases headstamped GFL .223 Rem. I'm assuming these are commercial cases as military cases would be stamped 5.56 not .223 Rem. but I'm not familiar with the brands. Anybody seen this stuff? Also about 4 cases labeled PPU. Thanks for your help. RD

DUH, I knew PPU was Privi. I've only got a 100 7.62x54 Privi cases in the loading block. Don't know where my head is tonight. Came home and turned my vibratory tumbler on after work, sometimes I fill it up as I size cases to tumble the lube off, I don't leave it running when I'm not home. Just went down to empty it and it's been running for 4 hours with no cases in it. :shootfoot: Obviously time for bed. RD

There ya have it!  LOL

Valuable info from our friends "accross the pond".

That explains the few GFL .45 Auto cases I have lol,

Did a web-crawl for KFA cartridge headstamp, and came up with the following:

According to some posts on the S&W forum, it is LE access only:

Kilgore Ammunition Products in Tennessee

That or a WW2 German ordinance marking:

"kfa" -- Staatliches Arsenal, Sarajevo, Yugoslavia

I'm suspecting Kilgore, unless you got some 1940's Wehrmacht .223 Remington.

OS, Thanks for the heads up on Kilgore. I did a little ressearch. Looks like they make only frangible ammo for .308,.223, 50BMG, 9mm, .40SW, .45 ACP. The .223 are 45 grain tin/copper bullets. I would think this brass should be reloadable. All looks the same but I have not yet checked the internal volume etc.

They also make a bunch of incendiary ordnance including red phosphorous flares, MK4 flares for heat seeking missle avoidance, large primers for 120mm rockets etc. RD
