I have three 22 rimfire pistols, the Mod 41 S&W with two barrel , Colt Woodsman sport with 4 inch barrel, and the Beretta Cheetah with the 3 inch barrel i believe . I personally like carrying the Woodsman because it is very accurate for a plinker and i had Roguard refinsh it with the NP-3 finsh. The Mod 41 is the most accurate 22 pistol i have owned and i have owned all the High Standards and Ruger Target guns and the Smith will walk on all them. The Beretta is a good little pocket pistol and a lot more accurate that most would think. I have killed around ten Racoons that have been treed using this little pistol and it has never jamed with any load i have used . I love a good 22 lr handgun and couldn't live without at least one in the safe . If they put the New Ruger Slab Side out with a four inch barrel i will purchase one of them , I just like the shorter barrels better.

Have a third variation Match Target Woodsman with six inch barrel that was my father in law's. It might not be match competative anymore, but it is still one hell of a shooter. Also like Ruger's Single Six.

My 4" Colt Diamondback is my favorite 22 pistol.   It's kind of like a mini Python.   Just a really cool little gun to shoot.

I owned a Walther PPKS German and the Colt Diamondback in 22 lr and sold them both, of the two i wish i had keep the Walther PPKS. I replaced the Walther with the Beretta 87 Cheetah in 22 lr. I found one of the French Mauchran PPK'S in 22 but the quality wasn't as good as the German, so i pasted on it.

I grew up on a Colt huntsman. The only 22 pistol currently around here is an old model Ruger Bearcat, nice handling and plenty accurate enough to pluck prairiedogs at 50 yds or a bit further.

I like my Ruger MkII with a Volquarteen trigger. Won a bunch of silhoute trophies with it.

I also had a Model 41 that was super accurate. With Federal UM1 it would shoot ten shots under a dime at twenty five yards. I sold it because I prefer to shoot the Ruger.

One my cousins died in 04 and left me Rohn 22 caliber revolver. It is what one might call a Saturday Night special, being very cheaply made. You know pressed particle metal plastic grips and not to many moving parts. It has no ejector, the empties are pushed out with the base pin.

All that said it is quite accurate and fun to shoot. However it is not my favorite 22 pistol.

I would have to give first choice to my Browning Medalist. It's very accurate and feels great in my hands. It is a bit on the heavy side for a all around plinker. I also have a S&W Model 41 that is a very good all around gun as well. I like auto pistols in .22 caliber. Most run well, reload fast, and are very accurate. I have a 3rd generation Woodsman I bought new back in 1973. It's a great shooter but I have never broken it down because I've heard they are a total bear to reassemble.  Bill T.

Have to with the 22/45 Ruger and then the 10" match barrel on the T/C Contender.

I had one of those as well with the short barrel. It is a suprisingly accurate little gun. I wish I had kept it.

I don't know why I even own handguns I can't hit the broadside of a barn with them.

I own two 22LR:  a Ruger Mark II in stainless with a bull barrell and this Beretta model 21A.

I took a groundhog with the Beretta along the Mississippi river cliffs one day from about 15 yards. It was ugly though.

I brought it down to the bowling pin shoots at the gun club couple times and actually did as well with it as any of the bigger pistols I have.

I always thought it might make a nice little snake gun with the .22 shot in it. I did pattern it on a paper plate and it was ok but failed to eject them

I'd much rather have that Beretta Cheetah bea175  It that a pop up barrel too?
