Only picture I could find 6X6 elk taken in the Gila National Forest. I used a 270 WSM 140 grain Failsafe. I had a great ime on the hunt. It was the first time I have been on a mule for such a long time. Not the biggest elk but my first one and it was a trip!

I killed this buck at about 30 yards. I flintched so bad when I frist tried to shoot that I would have hit the ground in front of the buck. I had the safety on. I counted for 30 seconds to slow my heart heart down then I fired. Hitting the buck in the lungs. This is the first deer I killed and I had a great time.

It's been a good season for me. Took my first bull this past September. We called him to within 25':

Then, an otherwise quiet deer season became quite exciting, all of a sudden like. I ended up having to drag this big guy out by myself and then shove into the back of my sedan. I was alone and my camera battery died, so no "forest" shots:

A 210lb, 8 point. He'll be going on the wall.
