For those who like to vacuum seal ammunition or components, Reynolds has a very handy, CHEAP vacuum sealer on the market. It uses a resealable bag that you can vacuum out, like any other vacuum system, but these bags can be opened, resealed, and vacuumed out again. I suppose you could even use them for food, like the manufacturer suggests.

That thing looks pretty useful! I think I'll pick one up. I can see quite a few uses for that around the house. Thanks for the tip!!!

I use GI Ammo cans, they are reusable.
For meat and the like, I do use vacuum bags and my dehydrator, but plan on buying another freezer. I raise my own food on my little farm, and the feer that eat my corn become corn fed steaks.

Hardly anything beats ammo cans. I toss in some moisture absorbers but first lay a paper towel under it. wc

J.R. Cigar had a give away a few years ago, the perfect humidor. A G.I. Ammo can with a wooden lining, humidifier and a hydrometer.

We use ours for the kitchen, I use the bags for my ammo and components, in my machine shop, I seal up little parts to stay dry. There are a lot of uses for these vacuum bags.

Did anyone here ever try to vacuum seal primers? I wonder if that would be a good way to save them from moisture ruining them. Any thoughts?

I have sealed up many cartons of primers in these vacuum bags. I have not had any problems doing this. In fact it should extend the shelve life of the primers, if there is a shelf life for them.
My primers are in the vacuum bags, some are in G.I. cans and others are in a double walled stainless steel cabinet that is my "working" materials storgae.
These bags work great and don't cost much.

I vac seal all my primers.
From the Reynolds website-We have made the difficult decision to discontinue manufacturing and distributing Reynolds® Handi-Vac® products. Reynolds was proud to have developed this breakthrough product for food storage but, regrettably, Handi-Vac is one of those great products that was unable to generate the consumer demand and profitability required to keep it in our product portfolio.

Been a while since I posted that, since then I've moved to the Ziplock hand vacum pump. Works better, faster, and cheaper.

I have a bunch of cases stored in vacume bags. They all let the vacume leak out! I've got one of those zip-lock pumps now but haven tried it on cases yet.
