A guy just asked a question on another forum about case capacity and which powders to use to fill the case. Of all my manuals, only Lee had the data readily available. While looking up data to help him in his quest, I realized how important the Lee Modern Reloading manual is...to me.

I change my earlier post: Lee is my first go-to and I suppose Lyman or Sierra is second.

I would have to say that my current notebook of loading data is the best Reloading Manual that I have.

If I could only have one..................... LYMAN comparing numbers they have been the closest to actual real world performance for me. There are anomaly's like a fast barrel or a slow barrel, tight chamber or throat length as so on. I find Noslers numbers much better than I can get for the most part from 80% of my rifles. They all are good guides and for the most part the powders they recommend for a certain bullet for an accuracy load are usually spot on. I treat them as guides and work up when something changes like powder lot numbers or the bullet I want to use.  Once I find something that works good for me it goes into my happy book that stays in my happy place with all the copper and brass................... well you guys know:thumbs:

P O ackly's 2 book set is hard to beat but I use Seirra the most.             Ammoguide.com for online
If you have manuals from the 1960's the max loads were more than in all the new ones you get now because of lawyers.

If I was going to use a store bought manual, it would be Lyman. I think I already said that.

Most of the loads listed in P.O.Ackley's 2 book set are very high in pressures, resulting in very short life of primer pockets.
