http://NRAMembersCouncils.com/legs.shtml we'll need all of the hunters and shooters to submit objections to this from all over the nation or it will spread like wildfire.

California has some serious ignorant laws... I am happy to say,I`ve been to California once in the Mojave desert at the National Training Center
.That was enough of that place for me..(California that is)
I highly doubt I will ever visit that place again, let alone want to ever live there.
Its like a whole other country...like France.. with lots of strange thought processes going on..

This commission needs to be renamed to the anti hunting, anti shooting & anti fishing club. They definitely don't do anything for the sportsmen & women who purchase licenses and supplies which pays for all of this.

These types of ignorant laws are one of the many reasons I left The Peoples Republik Of California 16 years ago. Good luck, you are going to need it. You have a legislature and fish and game commission that doesnt lisen to the hunting public.

With Ca giving out IOUs for tax returns and have a $42 Billon debt, not sure if I want to live there.
I have been in California many times on business and on a vacation or two, but now it's better to be closer to home for me.
Plus I have it all, warm weather, sleding weather, big BBQs and lots of varmit hunting. Plus I can use lead for my bullets.
Not many people can still say that.

Calif hunters tried the non lead copper rifle bullets this past season with less than stellar results, according to a friend the hunters weren't able to drop their animal & had to pursue it shooting it several times.Nothing works like jacketed lead ammo!I have some Nosler 30 cal. Copper 150 & 180gr & Barnes 45-70 Copper bullets that I need to load and test fire into something to see what kind of performance I get. Last edited on Sat Feb 28th, 2009 05:06 AM by sako06

This weeks Western Outdoor News article headline "Rumors of Statewide Ban on use of Lead Ammunition are False"Response by CA Dept of Fish & Game & the fish & game commission after lots of letters, emails & phone calls is they never said anything about banning lead ammo statewide. The info came from the NRA Members Councils and other responsible organizations, there was also a report in Western Outdoor News about a f & g commissioner voicing a need for a lead ammo ban statewide. My impression is the dept & commission withdrew after the hunting & shooting participants took immediate action .I personally don't trust the fish & game dept or the commission after the proceedings on the condor ban when neither the governor nor the commission listened to Calif Rifle & Pistol Assoc Staff or the NRA . Has anyone thought about taking pictures of state vehicle that have lead wheel weights and submit those to the state. When the concept of banning lead from the sporting industry comes around, maybe we should point out the sources for the lead that we many of use is what is on their cars, the WWs.
Just a thought,
Jerry

Jerry there are no more lead wheel weights now they're made of steel,a neighbor owns a tire shop & told me about the new wheel weights that are rigid & won't stay on the wheels, can't bend them to fit the curvature of the wheel,he said it's a farce but the idiots want everything nontoxic or tree hugger GREEN

Sako,
Have you walked around some state vehicle to verify this? How about heavy equipment that the state and counties use?
Many governments say things, but do something different.

I'd hate to be the one that hets hit either Bodily or windshield with a steel weight . Some are pretty big to off throw an unbalanced rim or tire
