One of the local folks is offering one of two of his crossbows, the one I don't choose will go to grandson that live in some city.
The choices are:
Jaguar Camo 175-lb Rifle Crossbow
Barnett Panzer V Crossbow Package
With the Jag he will throw in 40 bolts, with the Barnett he will throw in 25 bolts.
The price he is asking is $125.00, I don't think either of them has seem a lot of field use.
My experiences with crossbows is limited, I have used the Vietname simple wooden crossbow and the South African 250 pound pull military crossbow.
So which is the better deal?
Thanks,
Jerry

The question I would be asking.... Which one of the two is it going to be easier to get parts for when something goes bad?
I don't have working knowledge on either of the two models you have asked about, as I have never seen either. I like the idea that Barnett is a well respected company that is moving forward in the crossbow world.

The Jag looks like it was made by Barnett. But I don't know.
Find out if they have been unstrung. Those recurves need to be unstrung when not in use. If they haven't been unstrung they will need a new prod (limbs).
I'd pick the Barnett. I know they stand behind there stuff.

Currently they are unstrung. But even thou they are a 2 or 3 years old, he has the boxes and the extras for them.
I like the Barnett, just because I have seen their name in many sporting good stores.

Hunting of course. We have a bow season, so I thought I would get a bow that is rifle like and use that.

His grandson didn't want either of the crossbows, so he sold me both of them for $200. One will probably be on the table at the next gun show.
