Loaded these this afternoon, 10.4 Italian. Cases are cut down .44 Specials, bullets are Lee 200 grain FN sized to .424. I've loaded roundball in this revolver before, using cut down cases, but this is the first time for conical bullets. Will try them out this weekend. Sometimes it is tough having a short attention span, always want to play with something new.

Short little buggers. .44 Special on the right for scale.

M-1889 Bodeo (or Glisenti, opinons seems to vary) revolver. Combines the worst features of both DA and SA. Double action is decent, even for current standards, but loads/unloads thru a gate, just like a Colt SA. Ejector rod isn't fixed, either, but slides freely in the cylinder arbor. Still an intresting piece of ordnace.

Thanks Charley! I really like the older pieces(although I can't afford any of them). Makes you wonder where it's been and what it has done. Great gun!

Thank you again, very much!

I think I paid somewhere around $100 for it. Not a high demand collectable!

Those crazy Italians. Niether the cartridge nor the gun are modeled after Sofiz Loren are they?

Reminds me more of the British "Bulldog" revolvers, though the grip is totally different.

It would be fun if Pietta would make some replicas of these early cartridge revolvers of European design.

I loaded up RB in my 45/70 for plinking. What else do you use RB in? Sounds like fun!

I've loaded RB in .45 Colt. Mediocre results IMO.

If I am not mistaken, Charlie's revolver was a favorite with Sicilian Mafiosi.

3 .457 RB in 45/70 makes a Marlin 95 a hell of a riot gun.
Same with three 0-0-0 buck in a 357.
A word about multi rb loads distance is important -too close and you just have a ragged, time consuming round ripping into one jagged hole - too far and you can miss a 55 gal drum right in front of you, the sad part is that it isn't that much distance between the them.
Another I tried was 2 457 rb with a 230 lead rn on top it made the lube problem less messy.

Tried it out this weekend. 3.0 Unique is way underloaded,  shot about a foot over sights at 10 yards, and bullets wouldn't penetrate (or even split!) a 2x4...part of my target stand.

3.8 Unique was better, pentration still isn't much, I'm guessing about 500-550 FPS. Will go up as far as 4 grains, and leave it at that. No need to push the old girl. Not planning on gunfighting with it.
