I  visited the local gun store today and just couldn't past this one up. I have been looking for a light weight carry 45 acp and after picking this one up i was sold. Springfield Champion LW 2 tone from Davidson Galley of Guns. Fully loaded with night sights and ABI Safety. I tried the Winchester Personal Protection 230 gr and it shot them about 3 inch high at 15 yards . I then tried the Speer Gold Dot 185 gr and they where dead on with the fixed sights so the Gold Dots will be my carry load. This pistol is almost as light as my Kahr 9mm P9 and will now be my primary carry for a while. One other thing i replaced the factory mags with the 8 round Wilson's. Combat.

Whoa! Now that's a beautiful piece, Bea. My Combat Commander gets heavier every year and that Springer looks like it would fit very well into my life, too. Congratulations

Great looking carry, enjoy it and practice with it at least 4 times a month, so you can have some fun and tell everyone that you need the practice, it could save your life.

Nice piece! I have a very similar Kimber pistol, it's fun to shoot and stupidly accurate for a 3" barrel. How far do those 8 round Wilson mags extend past the magazine well? I went with the 7 rounders and they only go past a little.

The eight round Wilson mags fit flush in My full size Springer. They have the same over-all length as a standard seven round magazine. The extra round comes when you change the follower and the spring in the Magazine.

It grouped the Speer Gold Dot 185 gr at fifteen yards about 1 inch and a halve and dead on with the fixed night sights. I have never really tried to shoot the smallest groups was just trying to find a quick carry load.

Sounds like a good load. I really like that bullet for the short 1911s. Speer makes a "short barrel" version of their GDs but I don't know how big the difference is compared to regular GDs.

Timber I have the Sig P239 in 357 Sig. It shoots great. The Colt in Satin is one fine pistol.
