I just received my Lee mold for 125 grain - 358 cal boolits. I made about 250 and the next day weighed them and measured them for diameter.
Using WW's, I found the weight was approx 130 - 131 grains and the diameter was .363 to .364".
Called Lee Precision and they said "send it back because it was obviously out of spec." I mailed it today. Hopefully the replacement will be the right stuff.
The Lee people were very helpful.

alot will always depend upon the alloy , keep in mind that years ago the ww alloy was much better than todays ( and thaz before zinc is even figured into it )one usual known alloy is solder(albiet expensive) it is always listed as 60/40, 50/50 etc, while i do tend to agree that .363 is rather large no matter the alloy for a .357 mold ,almost sounds like u got a mold for sized for a mak....(appoz .365)
what gets me is folks see the part about the 2 year "unconditional" guarantee and think "well thaz even cheaper etc " what they fail to do is read the rest ,let me quote
" Every Lee product is unconditionally guaranteed for a full two years and a conditional lifetime guarantee."
unconditional to me could simply mean "hey i dont like it no more " [shrugz] rarely do i bash a company ,i may state that i dont like a product and why or why i like it but i refuse to stoop to plain bashing
while i do keep in mind that alloys differ ur's indeed sounds like lee said "out of spec" most feedback i hear about lee's customer service is decent,

Actually that mold would be good for pistol and rifles that have a well loved (very worn) barrel. I would use such a bullet in an old police 38 or in a rifle in one of the old 35 caliber round.
The uses are endless.

he's already sent it back and i cant say that i blame him but i too grasped the thought that it could inadvertently work for something else ,lee does throw away misc molds like this when they get them ,most mite be junk but i bet there's a couple that goes to the shredder that could have other uses

Lee's number is 262-673-3075... Give them a call and see if it it can't be salvaged at an extremely good price! I've always found them to be very helpful.

Last Lee mold I bought was a 358 125 RF, bought because I was going to use it in a topbreak in .38 S&W. Figured I'd lap it out, but it dropped bullets at .361 with my alloy, just where I wanted them for that purpose. Sometimes you get lucky...

Because I run into different calibers and weapons, I try to hand on to molds. The mold in this thread could have been used for some of the older S$W 38 rounds and possible a squib load for the 32 Spec rifle round.
Some times it just a mold that is waiting for the right gun to come along.

I wish you weren't so correct on that point! I've got a shop full of "stuff" that is waiting for the matching rifle or handgun. Some of it I have even successfully matched up. Sights, stocks, molds, it will all be usefull....someday.

Once a year I go through the shop and tag things for sale or storage.
While I am home sick with the Swine Flu, it was confirmed this afternoon, I am going to sort thru my brass and stuff.

Sorry to hear you you got "spamed" I just got the H1N1 vaccination yesterday. I understand it hits the lungs hard. I hope you will feel well enough to even want to go to your shop.

daboone,
I have been doing some things, but not as much as like to. I have 3 new molds that I want to try out, got a bunch of shotshell to load up and a coyote to shoot.
So I sorted brass out today, while watching a movie.
Thanks,
Jerry
