  • Burris MTAC 30mm 1.5-6x42

I liked the looks of this scope and ordered one for my upcoming bear hunt. I thought Burris scopes were made in the U.S.A. Now I get this scope and find out that it is made in the Philippines. I'm not really happy about that but I still like the features of the scope. Don't know whether to keep it now or send it back.

    Swamp,
My brother was a big fan of the Burris scopes I got one on a chuck gun but he must have had some 15 or so of them from chucks, 22 RF and to his big guns swore by them like I swore to Leupold. The majority of my scopes are Leupolds.
The last one I got was a Nightforce for my 6.5 X47 Lapua that was my third one.

Be thankful it wasn't made in China... most of them are made overseas unless you are paying 4 digits.
That's my opinion and I'm stick'n to it...
      ...till I change my mind.

        Silver,
The last nightforce I picked up was not cheap by no means with the scope /mounts / bubble and rings was some heavy $$$$.$$ oh yah on the 4 digits past the three's. That will no likely be my last gun toy . Do make a hell of a scope among others.

I wish I could justify the cost of a Night Force. I would have one on my AR build. I have 2 Burris scopes and have no complaints. Everything else I have is wearing Vortex.

Most of my scopes are Leupolds also. But I also have Nightforce, Nikon, and Burris.

              swampshooter,
I would say if you are happy with what you looking at then stay with it. I myself have many make scopes including Weaver T's, also Sightron, Nikon, Burris , Redfield, Unertal, and Leupolds have one Swarovski and one Zeiss, and a German S & B , the prices were right and guess that's the same for all my scopes .

                SS,
Just ordered another Nightforce this one for my Ruger Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor. Got the 56 mm head 30mm body with the MOART Reticle 25 MOA click value and 6 bolt x-high rings. Treated myself to an early x-mass yah right.. looking at the Springfield TRP 45 ACP pistol now..its just another toy !!!!

The only difference between men and boys is the price of their toys.:lol:
